I'll be flying to Vegas with my wife, on Tuesday the 29Th, at 8:30 p.m., Alaska Time, for a 7 days stay. It will be our 3rd trip over there. The first one was on December 2005. We went there to get married, and we stayed at the Golden Nugget. On December 2005 we went back, and stayed 5 days at the MGM Grand. Both trips were cool, both we did not have any kind of schedule, neither we had any idea of what to do once we were there, other than going to the Poker Room and mess around all day long.
In this occasion I have something that can be called a plan. We booked the trip making sure we were going to be there for the Crue Fest. I'm a huge Motley Crue fan, and as soon as I found out about their tour I started to make plans to go watch them play. The foist idea was Seattle, since is closer to Alaska, and I've never been there before. But around those days we got a very nice offer to go to Vegas, with a very cheap package: 6 nights there, plus plane tickets, for only 1200$. It was a no brainer, so we booked it right away.
We are going to stay at the Imperial Palace, which is not as nice as the GN or MGM, but for this price you can't get cocky, and it has the advantage of been right by the 2 Poker Rooms I want to play at: Venetian and Caesar's.
Besides the Crue concert we are going to watch the Cirque Du Soleil, the Shark Reef at Mandalay, and a couple more things. Other than that, we'll be playing tournaments. The idea is to start at 9a.m. at Caesar's, and be there until 8p.m., which is when the nightly tourney at The Venetian starts. If we don't lose every single thing we play, we want to join the 550$ buy-in on Saturday.
I'm very excited about this trip, and I'll be updating this blog every night, or so I intend to do. I would love to met some p5'ers over there too, so if anybody reading this wants to have a drink and/or dinner/lunch or whatever with us, just PM me.
May the Poker Gods be with me. Take care everybody,
Andres
