Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino
The World Series of Poker again returns to the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in 2019

The Rio Hotel and Casino will be the epicenter of the poker world from May 30 – July 17, 2018.

Poker players and fans got a bit of an early Christmas present on Tuesday as the 2018 World Series of Poker schedule was released. The schedule is, by far, the most robust yet, with 78 bracelet events spread over 49 days.

“With today’s announcement, we hope there is enough time to adjust your holiday wish list,” said WSOP Tournament Director Jack Effel. “We feel very good about the multitude of offerings on the 2018 World Series of Poker schedule and look forward to welcoming everyone to the Rio in Las Vegas this summer.”

The 2018 WSOP runs May 30 – July 17 and as has been the case for a number of years now, the opening event is the $565 Casino Employees event. The first open event, which goes later that same day, is also one of nine new events on the 2018 schedule. The $10,000 Super Turbo Bounty is a single-day event and each player is a $3,000 bounty.

The other new events on the schedule are the $100,000 Super High Roller (Event #5), $365 Pot Limit Omaha (Event #11), $1,000 Double Stack (Event #34), $565 Online PLO Six-Handed (Event #47), $1,500 PLO Bounty (Event #67), $1,000 Double Stack 30-minute Levels (Event #73), $1,500 The Closer NLHE (Event #75), and $50,000 High Roller (Event #77).

The Main Event begins July 2 with the first of three starting flights and runs through the final table on July 14. Unlike 2017, players making the final table will not have any days off before play resumes.

One major departure from recent history is the inlcusion of post-lim events. In the past two years the Little One for One Drop has been the only event to start after the Main Event began. In 2018, there are 13 events that begin after the Main Event including the $1,000,000 buy-in Big One for One Drop.

There are four events on the schedule with a guarantee. The $1,500 Millionaire Maker has a $1,000,000 guarantee for first place, the $888 Crazy Eights events guarantees $888,888 for first, the $565 Colossus guarantees $1,000,000 for first, while the $1,500 Closer has a $1,000,000 guarantee on the prize pool.

Broadcast and live stream schedules will be announced at a later date.
