It’s hard enough to win one PocketFives Triple Crown, let alone five. But, Russia’s Anton ‘aJarov’ Yakuba did exactly that, capturing the fifth Triple Crown of his career and, incredibly, his second of the month.

“It feels good,” Yakuba said. “It’s quite a different achievement than a few years ago when you just needed to be extremely lucky in few tournaments. Now, it’s hard to even find three of those.”

If you’re not familiar with a Triple Crown, the award requires a person to win three $10,000 prize pool tournaments across three sites tracked by PocketFives in the same seven-day period. Each tournament must have at least 100 players and a real money buy-in. Satellites and qualifiers do not count.

Yakuba has 10 tournament wins already in June, and his latest Triple Crown started with a victory in the888 Breeze on June 15. The tournament had exactly a $10,000 prize pool with 200 runners and the Russian, under the user name ‘YSoSerious7‘, took it down for $2,150 and 100 PLB Points.

On June 19, Yakuba found the winner’s circle of the partypoker Heavyweight Super Knockout, earning $2,500. The $109 buy-in tournament attracted a field of 214 and the Russian was one of four members of the top 100 on PocketFives to cash in it.

He won two qualifying PokerStars tournaments during his latest Triple Crown run. The first came on June 19 after a win in a $109 No Limit Hold’em contest for $4,700. And the PokerStars tournament that we counted for his Triple Crown came on the 22nd in the Big $109. Yakuba defeated a field of 538 players in that tournament, banking almost $10,000 and over 200 PLB Points. The Big $109 win also meant his fifth PocketFives Triple Crown ever and the second of the month.

Yakuba’s first Triple Crown of June started on June 8 with a victory in the PokerStars Hot $162 for $4,600; there were 159 players in it. The same day, he came out on top in the 888 Monsoon for $3,500, and just like that, he had two qualifying Triple Crown wins in one day.

His fourth career Triple Crown ended with a gold medal in the 24hPoker Big Night In on June 12. It was one of 10 tournament wins he’s had in the first 22 days of June:

The 10 wins have raised his career win total to 259 and he’s up to $4.2 million in career online tournament cashes. He’s up to #37 worldwide in the PocketFives Rankings and is looking to beat his all-time best ranking of #25 set last year. Yakuba is the fourth-ranked player in Russia and #1 in Saint Petersburg.

Yakuba has accounted for five of Russia’s 46 Triple Crowns, or 11%.
