Arguably considered one of the best players who has yet to break through in a major tournament event, Paris, France’s Benjamin Pollak, known on PocketFives as MagicDeal, still has a career record that many in the tournament world would like to have on their resume. He came to Day 7 of the 2013 World Series of Poker Main Event final 27 in 22nd place with 3.23 million in chips.

Pollak’s first success on the tournament poker stage was during the Euro Finals of Poker in 2007, when he won a €500 No Limit Hold’em event in one of the palaces of poker, the Aviation Club. Over the past six years, Pollak has traveled the world in pursuit of a major tournament championship, cashing in events in France, Belgium, Spain, Morocco, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Over that span, Pollak has earned almost $1 million in tournament cashes and continues to be one of the focal points of the European poker scene.

Pollak was nearly down to the felt at the dinner break on Day 6 of the 2013 Main Event, sitting at just over one million chips as the players paused. Following that low mark, the Frenchman meticulously was able to build that stack back up without much fanfare from the audience in the Amazon Room and ended the day with over three million.

It was not going to be easy for Pollak to pick up any chips during the Day 7. He was on the only table that doesn’t have an eight-figure stack to chop some big chips out of. Along with that, Pollak had to contend with a short-stacked David Benefieldon his left and Maxx Coleman, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, and Amir Lehavot on down behind Benefield. Patience had to be Pollak’s mantra as he looked to get even deeper into the 2013 WSOP Main Event.

Pollak was the first elimination of Day 7 of the Main Event, falling in 27th place for $285,000.
