Chris Big HuniHunichen (pictured) is just the fifth member of the PocketFives community to score a $5 million cash badgein 2013. In fact, he is just the 15th player to accomplish the feat since the beginning of September. This week alone, he got over the hump in part by taking down the PokerStars$15,000 Guaranteed and PartyPoker $20,000 Guaranteed for a combined take of $11,000.

Hunichen has nearly 3,600 tracked in the money finishes in his PocketFives profile and generated over $2.7 million in winnings on PokerStars alone. Some of his signature scores include wins in the PokerStars Sunday 500in mid-2010 for $90,000 and in February 2012 for $68,000. Neither Sunday 500 was chopped.

Hunichen has also succeeded big-time in the annual PokerStars WCOOP, where he took second in a $1,050 No Limit Hold’em Second Chance tournament for $84,000 last September. Nine days later, he finished fifth in another $1,050 No Limit Hold’em event, this time bringing home $64,000.

In March 2011, he finished seventh in the Full Tilt $1K Monday $2 Million Guaranteed edition and walked away with a healthy score of $55,000. The final $50,000+ score we have tracked for Hunichen came in mid-2010 after a win in the Wednesday Quarter Million.

All told, the Costa Rica poker community member has 152 first place finishes in tracked online MTTs, 94 second place finishes, and 95 third place finishes. He is ranked #28 worldwide and once climbed as high as #3, which last happened in May 2012.

Speaking of Costa Rica, you’ll find Hunchen at #2 in the Central American nation. He hails from Guanacaste, where he is also ranked #2, and joined PocketFives in August 2007. He is the owner of five PocketFives Triple Crowns, tied for the eighth most ever. His most recent Triple Crown award came last December after wins on PokerStars, Full Tilt, and WPT Poker in the span of a week for a combined 545.40 PLB Points.
