Bobby McLawhorn claimed the top spot in the Nevada Rankings for the second straight month

For the second straight month, Bobby ‘bcm4924’ McLawhorn sits atop the Nevada Online Poker Rankings. And for the second straight month, he had to edge out another grinder to do it.

In June, McLawhorn just beat out Mark ‘wsopfreezer’ Johns to earn the top spot. In July, however, Ian ‘APokerJoker2’ Steinman made a run at the top spot, ultimately finishing second to McLawhorn.

McLawhorn started out July on the right foot, making two final tables on July 3, converting one into a win and the other into a third place finish. He kept that momentum going on Independence Day and won the $1,500 guaranteed Weekend Sprint Turbo with rebuys and add-ons for $1,221, one of his biggest scores of the month.

His biggest score came on July 19, when he bested 92 players in the $3,000 guaranteed nightly No Limit Hold’em to take home $2,100.73. For the whole month, McLawhorn had 26 cashes, 16 final tables, and four wins.

McLawhorn maintained the number one spot in the rankings, but Steinman didn’t make it easy. Steinman held the top spot for four straight months before dropping out of the top 10 in June. Steinman had another solid month on the virtual felt, earning 43 cashes in July. Of those 43 cashes, he made final tables in 33 of them, but was only able to convert two into a win.

Steinman won the $800 guaranteed No Limit Hold’em Deepstack for $358 and the $1,500 guaranteed nightly for $487. His biggest score of July came in a fifth place finish in the $10,000 Sunday Reloader for $1,145.

Rounding out the top three for July is Johns. Last month, he just missed out on the top spot, but this month he fell one spot to third. Johns put up another good month on WSOP.com with 39 cashes and an impressive six titles. Johns made a plethora of final tables as well, but his biggest score of the month came in a second place finish in the Sunday Reloader, earning $2,828.

Outside of the top three, there was plenty of movement up and down the rankings. Aside from Steinman’s return to the top of the rankings, three other players made their way into the top 10 after being absent in June.

‘ChaosTheory,’ ‘voff,’ and ‘CloverSparklesFartShovels’ all made appearances in the rankings after not having a spot in last month.

Of the non-Steinman newcomers, ‘ChaosTheory’ finished the highest with a fourth place finish. He didn’t have the type of volume that other players had, but racked up over $18,000 in cashes throughout the month. His biggest score was a win in event #89 of the Online Championships on WSOP.com. He took home $10,756 after besting 97 players in the $200 buy-in re-entry and one add-on event.

‘voff’ dropped out of the top 10 in June, but came back and finished seventh In July’s rankings, while ‘CloverSparklesFartShovels’ just missed a top 10 spot in June and cracks it with a ninth place finish in July.

The rest of the leaderboard is filled with regulars on the list. David ‘MastAAce08’ Goodman dropped two spots to fifth, ‘DatDude’ fell one spot to sixth, Paul ‘PaulDewald’ Dewald slid four spots to eighth, and Kevin ‘Sunesona’ Suneson dropped four spots to 10th and just barely keep a spot on the leaderboard.
