If you play online poker in New Jersey and own a mobile device, you’re in for a treat. Borgata Pokerand PartyPoker, which are on the same network, have launched mobile apps to allow you to play while on the go. As of right now, tournaments are not available on the mobile version, but according to PokerNews, “The real money games feature stakes as high $25/$50 and Fast-Forward games up to $5/10.” Fast-Forward is a fast-fold online poker game.

If you play on Borgata, the app was released in recent days and, according to Poker Eagles, varies slightly from PartyPoker’s version: “The app is the same exact one released by PartyPoker with only aesthetic differences. The aesthetic differences, in my opinion, actually make the Borgata one nicer, as the graphics have a better look and feel compared to the one released by PartyPoker.”

Dennis Dlorican Lopez, who authors PocketFives’ twice-a-week New Jersey Tournament Reviews, shared his experience with the Borgata/PartyPoker mobile app in our New Jersey poker community: “I did get to play some cash games on my iPhone just to try it out. Haven’t run into any problems with it thus far and the game flow is good.”

888 Pokerand WSOP.com, two other legal and regulated New Jersey online poker sites, also offer mobile apps. Poker Eagles explained when the apps were launched late last month, “The graphics are crisp and clean and they look good on both devices. The ability to search and find a game is very easy, which is a huge plus. When I finally did get the chance to play on the app, I was overall impressed and I actually prefer playing on the iPad over the actual client software for the PC.”

Legalized internet gambling, which includes more games than just online poker, launched last November in New Jersey. The Garden State became the third to offer online gaming legally in the US, joining Nevada and neighboring Delaware.

There are plenty of potential customers for the New Jersey mobile apps. According to PokerScout, which keeps tabs on cash game traffic around the world, the combined Borgata Poker/PartyPoker network has a seven-day running average of 240 real money ring game players and makes up about half the market. The next largest site is WSOP.com, which boasts a seven-day average of 160 cash game players. Other options include 888 Poker and Betfair.
