The PocketFives.com forums and the online poker world in general have been buzzing at the news that Brian Stinger885Hastings trumped Swedish online poker newcomer Isildur1 to the tune of $3.2 million on the virtual felts of Full Tilt Poker. The buzz-worthy session between the two high-stakes pros lasted for five hours and took place over the course of 2,500 hands of $500-$1,000 Pot Limit Omaha. The action on December 8th began with a simple thread on PocketFives.composted by aupoker1 that began, “Thread worthy or not hastings sitting with 3 mil on 6 tables.” Then, things got interesting.

In one of the largest hands during the five-hour extravaganza, Hastings (pictured at left), a CardRunners instructor, raised pre-flop with 8h-5h-4d-7d to $3,000 and Isildur1 put in a raise of his own to $9,000. Hastings bumped the action to $27,000 and Isildur1 just made the call to see the flop come 3s-Th-3c. Isildur1 checked and Hastings bet one-third of the pot, or $18,000. Isildur1 once again called and the turn came the 6h.

Hastings, now sitting with flush and straight draws, bet $72,000 after Isildur1 checked and the Swede made the call to see a river 4c, giving Hastings a straight. Isildur1 rapped the virtual table and Hastings led out for $234,000. Isildur1 called all-in for his last $135,000, creating a massive $504,000 pot. Isildur1 mucked and Hastings raked in a half-million dollars.

In another hand, Hastings, sitting with a stack of $819,000, raised to $3,000 with 6s-Kh-Js-Ks. Meanwhile, Isildur1 bumped it to $9,000 with Tc-6c-Jd-8c. Hastings made the call and the flop fell 5s-Ts-4c. Isildur1 bet $18,000 and Hastings raised to $66,000 with a flush draw and overpair. Isildur1 called and the turn came the 8d. Isildur1 checked and Hastings bet pot, $150,000. The Swede once again called all-in, this time for his last $137,000, and the 5c hit the river, giving Hastings kings and fives and the win in the $425,000 pot.

At the time of writing, Hastings had scooped pots of $682,000 and $504,000 off Isildur1 in the past 24 hours. According to PokerTableRatings.com, which has seen its traffic balloon in recent months due to the newfound high-stakes excitement on Full Tilt Poker, Isildur1 is now $2.1 million in the hole, while Hastings is up $3.5 million. Despite Isildur1’s lack of success against most of the high-stakes world as of late, Tom “durrrr” Dwan (pictured at right) has still contributed $5.5 million to his bankroll.

Isildur1 has dropped $3.8 million to Hastings, $2.9 million to 2009 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event final table member Phil Ivey, $2.2 million to Patrik Antonius, and $1.3 million to CardRunners instructor Brian Townsend. His status on PokerTableRatings.com is appropriately “Ice Cold,” as he’s evaporated his $5 million in earnings registered on November 15th in less than a month. Isildur1 has spent most of December in the red and many are wondering when and if the Swede will go the way of the dingo.

PocketFives.com member Faaantastic commented in the same thread in Poker Discussion, “Isildur down to the last 1.3 mill in his acct? he was dropping and adding tables when he busted on one, now he just reloaded the last one with 103k only. interesting.”
