If you’re like me, you’re in dire need of new poker chips for your home game. Half of my cheap chips from Wal-Mart are scratched up or have some sort of old cheese dip crusted into the grooves. I just recently discovered Nevada Jacks, one of the leading custom and ceramic chip manufacturers in the world. Rather than settle for a low quality import, do yourself a favor and give Nevada Jacks a try. You’ll be buying casino grade poker chips that will last a lifetime, and make you the talk of the town at your home game. This week, the PocketFives.com Podcast welcomes Jim Evering, the founder of Nevada Jacks.

You don’t have to look far to understand why Nevada Jacks should be on your radar. Its website, www.nevadajacks.net, explains what separates Nevada Jacks from the rest of the pack: “First, we offer custom poker chips that are casino grade with the fastest delivery time in the industry. Second, our true clay poker chips are the same quality as used in casinos. In fact, they are made on the same presses, using the same materials as used for many casinos throughout Las Vegas. In addition, we exclusively own the casino molds by which our chips are produced. No other retailer produces chips on these molds. Third, we actually manufacture our casino grade 10-gram clay composite chips ourselves in the USA.”

As you might expect, Nevada Jacks was founded as a result of Evering not being able to find a quality poker chip for a gift: “I was looking for a good set of poker chips for my mother and father. I looked online and really couldn’t find much. Years of work and research allowed us to create Nevada Jacks and start manufacturing our own quality product.” You can actually purchase customized ceramic poker chips, making Nevada Jacks chips perfect for use at your local bar, fraternity, or even home game. You can even slap “Best Dad Ever” on your chips and buy a unique Fathers’ Day present.

It’s important to understand the difference between ceramic poker chips and their clay counterparts. Evering explains: “Ceramic chips are more of a medium market and are slightly lower priced, but come with better images. Casinos that use ceramic chips are the Luxor and the Hard Rock. The clay chip was actually a handmade, impression molded product that is of a lower quality, but has a greater acceptance in the marketplace.” You’ll find both ceramic and real clay chips on Nevada Jacks’ website. The clay poker chips feature a “Nevada” mold that was used in Las Vegas 40 years ago. It’s where the name Nevada Jacks originated.

Just like any investment, you need to take care of your Nevada Jacks poker chips. After all, you’re shelling out money and want to ensure that your purchase doesn’t go to waste. Here are a few tips that Evering offers: “Never leave clay chips in the car. You shouldn’t wash them with any warm detergent. A mild bath should be fine. For home use, they can be played with for generations.” All you have to do is clean off your chips and they’ll be good as new!

Just like the poker industry, the poker chip industry is constantly evolving. Evering talks about the future: “We’re hoping to go worldwide, just like poker. We also hope to tap into the casino market worldwide.” For more information, visit www.nevadajacks.net or call 888-652-4477.
