Although Chris Lindh had no recorded live tournament cashes in 2013, he is no stranger to the live tournament circuit with almost $200,000 in career cashes. To start Day 6 of the 2013 WSOP Main Event, Lindh found himself in 10th place with 4,070,000 in chips. Although this total was over 1.0 million chips behind Matthew Reed, who sat in ninth place, he was in good position to make the November Nine with only 68 players left.

Most of Lindh’s previous large tournament cashes came in Atlantic City at the Borgata. In June 2009, Lindh took seventh place in the $3,000 Borgata Summer Poker Open Championship Event for $49,800. The following winter, Lindh took third place in the $1,000 Borgata Winter Open for $35,075. He followed that up in April 2010 with a second place finish in the $1,000 Borgata Spring Open for $33,969.

Lindh found himself in a few big pots in Day 5 including a race against Ryan Wolfson with the blinds at 10,000/20,000. The two of them got all of their money in pre-flop for a mammoth pot of 1.6 million chips putting Wolfson’s tournament life at risk. Lindh’s pocket nines held against Wolfson’s suited A-K, bringing Lindh’s chip count up to 3.62 million.

Shortly after this hand, Lindh found himself temporarily in the chip lead and was in a hand against Alexander Kuzman. While we do not know what either player held, on a 4s-Ad-Kd, flop Kuzman checked and Lindh bet out 85,000 in chips. Kuzman check-raised the flop to 200,000 chips, which Lindh called.

The action got interesting on a seemingly harmless turn, the 3h. Lindh went all-in after Kuzman checked the action to him. While Kuzman was relaxing getting an arm massage, he was thinking about whether to risk his remaining 805,000 chips in before folding. Lindh was the first player with over 4.0 million chips after winning this hand.
