In 2008, John “The Razor” Phan won the Bluff Player of the Year award and CardPlayer Player of the Year award. Since then, there has not been a dual winner of both honors. However, Daniel Negreanu (pictured), the front man of PokerStars, seems poised to sweep the yearlong accolades in 2013.

In the Bluffrace, Negreanu has 1,274 Player of the Year points, about 200 more than second place, which belongs to Phillipp Gruissem. In 2012, Negreanu was 29th in the Player of the Year race on Bluff with 659 points. Here’s a look at the Bluff Player of the Year standings for 2013:

He cashed in six WSOP tournaments in Las Vegas with one final table and took fourth in the EPT Grand Final Main Event in Monte Carlo for $420,000. Negreanu’s largest cash of the year came in April via a victory in the WSOP Asia-Pacific Main Event for over $1 million. He won the 2013 WSOP Player of the Year title as well.

Negreanu is the new #1 player in the ESPN poker rankings dubbed “The Nuts” this month, edging out Phil Ivey. As ESPN’s Andrew Feldman put it, “Negreanu’s accomplishments during 2013 would be considered a career for most players.” Selbst and Seiver also appear in the top four of ESPN’s rankings.
