The mid-stakes kickoff event of the second annual PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) attracted a starting grid of 6,783 players, creating a mammoth $1.3 million prize pool. When the smoke cleared in the $215 No Limit Hold’em Six-Max tournament, Utah native Dantes_11 came out on top and walked away with $203,000. It marked the largest win ever for the PocketFives.com member, who has taken down Full Tilt Poker’s $23,500 Guaranteed and $17,500 KO Guaranteed in the last six months for a combined $13,000.
Heads-up, Dantes_11 bested Fohle140586, who collected $142,000; the top three players banked six-figure paydays. Finishing in fourth place was Sebastian sebbau Bauer, who hails from Germany and earned $61,000 on Sunday. Bauer won an event held during the UB.com Online Championship (UBOC) in January for $361,000 and, on New Year’s Day 2010, took down the Full Tilt Poker $60,000 Guaranteed for $25,000. Joining Bauer at the final table of the SCOOP mid-stakes kickoff event was Frenchman Ronando, who cashed for $34,000.The final table stacked up as follows:

The high-stakes kickoff event of the 2010 SCOOP featured a $2,100 buy-in and a prize pool approaching $1.6 million. BadcardsAA defeated baloo1962 to claim a $277,000 top prize, while baloo1962 earned $204,000 for second place. Holding down the fourth spot on the leaderboard was PocketFives.com member Heißtercamp. The German took home $110,000 for fourth, adding to a tournament resume that includes final table appearances in the Sunday Warm-Up and Sunday Brawl for a combined $66,000.

In the low-stakes SCOOP kickoff tournament, a flood of 27,305 players descended upon the world’s largest online poker site for a $22 No Limit Hold’em Six-Max event. In the end, hexchen3006 turned his $22 investment into $57,000, more than 2,600 times his buy-in. ffmm67 took second place for $41,000, while lark465 landed in third place for $24,000.
