A resident of Connecticut, David Stefanski was a professional poker player with $703,902 in live tournament earnings during his career entering the 2015 WSOP Main Event. Interestingly, even though he had won nearly a quarter-million dollars, he had nary a six-figure cash. His biggest cash was for $70,000 when he finished fourth in the $2,500 No-Limit Hold’em Championship Event on the Deepstacks Poker Tour at Mohegan Sun.

Stefanski had quite a long list of tournament cashes, mostly, as one might guess based on where he’s from, at Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. He has eight lifetime cashes at the World Series of Poker, all but one in tournaments with buy-ins of $1,500 or lower.

His most recent before the 2015 WSOP Main Event came when he placed 96th in the $777 No-Limit Hold’em Lucky 7’s Event. He also has one cash on the World Poker Tour, coming back in 2008 at the Foxwoods Poker Classic.

Stefanski is also a member of PocketFives, registered under the screen name flopmynuts33. He has $53,652 in recorded online tournament winnings. Considering his last recorded cash was in early April 2011, it looks like Black Friday put an end to his online poker days.

One of his best hands of Day 6 of the Main Event came shortly before the dinner break. According to the WSOP.com write-up, Federico Butteroni bet 190,000 pre-flop, Upeshka De Silva called, and Stefanski three-bet to 680,000.

Butteroni folded and De Silva called to bring on the flop of 4s-Jd-Kd. Both men checked and did the same when the 3h was dealt on the turn. The river produced the 8c, prompting Stefanski to bet 960,000. De Silva called, but mucked when Stefanski showed Ac-Kc for top pair.

He ultimately exited the Main Event in 16th place for $325,000.
