Wednesday!

Always a big day for baseball and it’s the finalize golf things day. Pretty amazing to me that somebody’s gonna turn $3 into $20k AGAIN this weekend on a not very exciting golf tournament.

On to the slate. 10 games and lots of options. Lester, Kluber, and Keuchel are my top pitching options. I think I like Keuchel the most for cash, Lester and Kluber more for GPPs. Both their games feature high totals against potent offenses. Granted DET has been cold for a while, but they still have a bunch of really good professional baseball hitters on their lineup. TB is easily the softest matchup, but nobody has the K upside that Lester and Kluber do. Lester is the best play on DK as he is severely underpriced at 9.9k. If I’m going cheap then I’m looking at Jeff Samardzija and Jered Weaver. They are facing each other in the last game of the night and will likely go underowned and they can likely pay off their 6.Xk salaries on DK.

Posey is a fine option at catcher as is Yan Gomes. I like Yan more as he will be under-owned and is more likely to dong than Buster tonight. I like Saltalamacchia or David Ross for punts. Both have surprising power and usually go overlooked. There’s a lot of fine but unexciting options at 1B tonight. I’m likely punting the position with Darin Ruf for cash games but will try and find under-owned guys who can dong in GPPs like E5 (Encarnacion), Abreu, Pujols, Rizzo, and Mark Reynolds. 2B is all Anthony Rendon. I’m not punting. I like Tulo at SS. Nick Ahmed gets a significant lineup boost to 2nd vs Happ(less) at Pittsburgh. He’s 2.2k on DK and has sneaky power especially for a shortstop. At 3B I will also be playing Anthony Rendon. I wish you could play the same guy more than once. Could be an interesting twist. There isn’t a guy that stands out to be besides Rendon at 2B or 3B, so I will be looking for guys who can dong… see a theme here? Yes. I like dongs. I love them. I want to stuff as many into my sheet as possible. That brings me back to Tim Beckham, Kolten Wong, maybe some Lonnie Chisenhall? In the outfield I like Blackmon, Taylor, and Gomez on the top end. That Bryce Harper kid is good at baseball but he’s 6k on DK. I also like Gregor Blanco, and Jason Bourgeois makes a great punt leading off for CIN v Guthrie.

Stacks I am looking at are: WAS, CLE, STL, COL, TOR, LAA, and PHI. I try to get myself on the team full of the most dongs with the least ownership. I was pleased with the ownership levels yesterday on WAS and TOR stacks even though I thought they were the best plays on the night. They paid off so I fear that may bring people on to them tonight, but maybe people are creatures of habit and they will be off them tonight too? I hope so.

Weather needs payin’ attention to in Baltimore and especially KC. Follow @KevinRothWX for the best DFS weather advice there is. Chance of delay in both games, chance of PPD in Kansas City.

Wyndham Championship

I’ll publish my notes here in a moment. Koepka is the favorite and should be highly owned. Scott will be the lowest owned expensive guy. I may fade Hideki although I like his golf game, and I’m considering fading Sneds too. I think they will be heavily owned and I really like guys like Haas, Simpson, and Horschel due to my expectations of their performance and ownership. My favorite value plays are Will Wilcox, Austin Cook, Ben Martin, George McNeill, Vaughn Taylor, Boo Weekley, and Jerry Kelly.
