Currently a site that makes its home on the Microgaming Network, DoylesRoom will soon head to the Cake Poker Network. PocketFives.com has learned that the official changeover is tentatively scheduled to occur next Tuesday, January 27th. The Cake Poker Network accepts players who hail from the United States, which likely led to Doyle’s Room electing to move. The site is a component of the PocketFives.com Online Poker Rankings and began being tracked on June 15th of last year. Let’s take a look at the details of Doyle’s Room heading to the Cake Poker Network.
New players who sign up for Doyle’s Room will in fact be downloading software from the Cake Poker Network. According to a post made in the Doyle’s Room poker forum by its administrator, the new software will include “player tracking protection, customizable private tournaments, bounty tournaments, improved customer service with the help of a powerful CRM solution integrated within the poker software, easy-to-use cashier and account management systems, and without question -- one of the most secure poker rooms online.” The ability to change screen names once every seven days may also be part of the new software.
The Cake Poker Network, unlike Microgaming, accepts players from the United States. Doyle’s Room is flanked by perhaps the most recognizable face in the U.S. poker industry, Doyle Brunson. The 10-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner trails only UltimateBet pro Phil Hellmuth in that department. Brunson sits in second place tied with Johnny Chan. As I peer into the site at midnight Eastern Time on a weekday night, Doyle’s Room has 7,425 players logged in, with about two-thirds of them seated at its virtual felts.
Doyle’s Room also plays host to the weekly Bounty tournament, which will return on Wednesday, January 28th at 9:30pm ET after a one week hiatus. The buy-in is an affordable $27.50 and features three bounties up for grabs. Take out one of the bounties and you’ll find yourself $500 richer. Knocking out two will earn you $5,000 and ousting all three bounties from the tournament will thicken your wallet by $25,000. The winner of each Bounty tournament is invited back the following week to play and has $500 placed on their head.
The feature bounties belong to Hoyt Corkins (who can be found playing under the screen name Hoyt_Corkins), Mike Caro (Mike_Caro), and Brunson (Tex_Dolly). Any Doyle’s Room member who knocks the site’s namesake out of the Bounty with 10-2, his signature hand, pockets $1,020. The players at each tournament’s final table are automatically entered into a Gold Chip tournament that occurs on the following Monday. Finally, Doyle’s Room will actually refund your buy-in for your first attempt at the Bounty tournament. The best part about the offer is that it doesn’t matter whether you win or lose the first time, Doyle’s Room will comp your buy-in.
If you’ve never played on Doyle’s Room, now is an excellent time to take a test drive. Check out DoylesRoom today.
