Winning one SCOOPtitle is impressive enough. Winning two in a lifetime is pretty impressive. Winning two in a single day is almost unheard of, but that’s exactly what happened to Canada’s dragonwariorthis week.

This is a first of sorts. The PokerStars Blog explained, “As this year’s SCOOP has shown, some truly great players have won two titles in one year (I mean,
just look at Nicolas Chouity), with others winning three (I mean, just look at Jason Mercier). But none have done so in the space of a few hours. Until today.”

And it’s not like dragonwarior won two puny events either. No, no. These were large-scale tournaments with six-figure payouts. First, the Canuck took down the $1,050 NLHE Super Tuesday Special Edition for $275,000, a SCOOP tournament that drew 1,643 players.

The PokerStars Blog continued, “[The $1,050 NLHE Super Tuesday SCOOP event]had an official finish time of 6:42am ET (yeah, we record this sort of detail). Less than four hours later, at 10:02am ET, he did the same again in Event 33-H, a $2,100 NLHE Optional Rebuy event, collecting $256,056 for first. Both tournaments had a $1 million guarantee.”

Amazingly, dragonwarior was heads-up as chip leader in the Super Tuesday SE at the same time he entered the final table of the Optional Rebuy event as the chip leader.

Oh yeah, neither tournament was chopped. In the end, dragonwarior had been awarded two SCOOP titles and over a half-million dollars in prize money. The second tournament had 681 entrants and a prize pool that passed $1.3 million. Here’s how its final table panned out:

1. dragonwarior (Canada): $256,056
2. ZhipOHoy (Norway): $186,594
3. Faith#1Virtu (Canada): $137,562
4. gordiju (United Kingdom): $103,512
5. Puropoker123 [2] (Panama): $72,730.80
6. pistons87 (Canada): $57,885
7. mandza17 (Croatia): $44,265
8. SirWatts (Canada): $30,645

Congrats to dragonwarior on his impressive performance!
