‘eisenhower1’ won the 2015 PocketFives Yearly PLB

By 128 points, Sweden’s ‘eisenhower1‘ won the 2015 Yearly PocketFives Leaderboard, or Yearly PLB. He amassed 17,060 PLB Points over the course of the year and edged out Artem ‘veeea‘ Vezhenkov. Perhaps not surprisingly, ‘eisenhower1’ and ‘veeea’ are #1 and #2 worldwide in the PocketFives Rankings entering 2016.

The Swede recorded his two largest online tournament cashes during 2015. First, he finished sixth in the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker Main Event, earning almost $300,000. The tournament, which took place in May, drew a field of 694 entrants and had a buy-in of $10,300. Mustapha ‘lasagnaaammm‘ Kanit ultimately took it down and bagged over $1.3 million.

In September of last year, ‘eisenhower1’ claimed a World Championship of Online Poker bracelet in a $700 No Limit Hold’em Cubed event. The tournament drew a field of 518 and he outlasted ‘A.Tricarico’ heads-up for $133,000 and his first WCOOP bracelet.

‘eisenhower1’ won his sixth PocketFives Triple Crown in February of last year after victories on 888, PokerStars, and Full Tilt for a total of 621 PLB Points, or 3.6% of his total points for the year. It was his only Triple Crown in 2015.

In September, the 2015 Yearly PLB winner won the Monthly PLB title with 3,992 points. It was the highest Monthly PLB total of anyone in 2015 and came on the strength of his WCOOP title. It was the first time ‘eisenhower1’ had won a Monthly PLB.

“It feels cool to be at the top of it. It gives me some credit for all of the hours I’ve put in this year,” said ‘eisenhower1’.

He has been the #1 ranked online poker player since September 30, now over three months, and explained that his reign at the top might not stretch much further into 2016: “I might be able to hold it for a few more weeks. A bunch of Swedish players and I are going to Mexico when TCOOP starts and our goal is to put in many hours grinding for two months with a good time zone. After that, I don’t think I will play as much as I did last year.”

Second place in the 2015 Yearly PLB race went to ‘veeea’, who had 16,932 points. Three of his five largest online tournament scores came last year, highlighted by a win in the Sunday Million in November for $183,000 and almost 1,100 PLB Points.

Artem ‘veeea’ Vezhenkov finished second in the 2015 Yearly PLB

In May, ‘veeea’ won a SCOOP $109 Rebuy for $71,000, defeating a field of 1,466 entrants. Six weeks prior, he emerged victorious from the Sunday Supersonic and earned $51,000. Here were the top 10 finishers in the 2015 Yearly PLB on PocketFives:
