We’re still at two players left in the 2013 World Series of Poker Main Event. At the time of writing, Ryan Riess(pictured) leads Jay Farber 155 million in chips to 35 million, or about a 9:2 margin. Interestingly, a few different superlatives could be set if Riess comes away with the title.

According to WSOP’s Jessica Welman, if Riess wins this Main Event, he will be the first World Champ born in the 1990s. Additionally, “he’d also help keep the average age of N9 winners at 22.5.” One other humorous quip from the peanut gallery came from WSOP Vice President Ty Stewart, who Tweeted, “Maybe most classic WSOP tweet ever by @BillSimmons…. could be first championship by guy wearing Lions jersey. Diddy and @RyanRiess1?”

WSOP commentator Antonio Esfandiaricommented on a betting pattern from Riess, who would whisk his chips out with his right hand fairly quickly compared to his regular betting pattern, and did so when he had a hand. Something to look for in the future.

We’re still campaigning to have reigning champion Greg Merson in the broadcast booth. If you watched on Monday when the field was trimmed from nine players to two, then you’ll know that Merson provided some very insightful commentary that was well received on Twitter.

And just like that, Riess continues to pull away, as WSOP officials Tweeted, “Ryan Riess keeps extending his chip lead over Jay Farber. He now has a 10-1 advantage w/ 174 mil to Farber’s 16.5 mil. Blinds still 500K/1m.” The broadcast on ESPN is 15 minutes behind real time.
