Fourth Annual PocketFives Party is Tuesday, July 1st[ return to main articles page ]

It makes me excited just typing that headline. The fourth annual PocketFives Party takes place next Tuesday, July 1st and is proudly sponsored by DoylesRoom. The party will be held at the Hooters Casino, which is just off the south end of the Strip on Tropicana Avenue. Walk past the Texas Hold’em Bonus and $10 craps tables with Hooters girls dealing and head straight for the Iowa Banquet Room. The party runs from 7:00pm to 10:00pm Vegas time, so you have plenty of time to stop by and have a drink with your favorite PocketFivers. It’s a unique opportunity to mingle with the folks you’ve been talking to and railing for the past year, making the PocketFives Party one of the highlights of any WSOP trip.

The Food
We’ve spared no expense to make sure that you can get your fill while at the PocketFives Party. Munch on deli sandwiches and Hooters pizza. Scoop a hearty portion of potato salad or coleslaw onto your plate and then top it all off with my favorite part, the assorted pies. We’ll have a pair of buffet lines set up for you, so eat at your own leisure. Seconds are encouraged.

The Drinks
Drinks are on the house at the PocketFives Party. We’ll have complimentary sodas and bottled water for you from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. There will also be three types of beer, which you can sample on the house as well. Near the pies, you’ll find coffee and iced tea if either of those is your “cup of tea.” Come thirsty.

The Friends
I’d say there’s a pretty good chance that several high-profile PocketFivers make the journey to Hooters. Past events have included Rizen, JohnnyBax, brsavage, and even BeL0WaB0Ve. I’ve never seen as an eclectic array of PocketFivers as I saw at the party in 2006. I expect nothing less in 2008.

The Sponsor
We’re pleased to announce that DoylesRoom is the official sponsor of the fourth annual PocketFives Party. They’ll be dishing out merchandise and autographed memorabilia to those in attendance. In addition, DoylesRoom may even lend us some of their world-famous celebrities, including Shannon Elizabeth and Doyle Brunson himself.
