The Full Tilt Online Poker Series is coming to an end for the month of February, with exciting action currently taking place in its feature Event #17, hosted by FullTilt Pro Scott Fischman. As of February 17th, 4:30pm Eastern Time, many PocketFivers remain among the field of 30 players.
Feature Sundays have become more common in the last year, as major poker sites compete against each other to bring their tournament players the largest possible prize pools. Nearly every month, there is one (or more) Sunday major tournament paying out over $200,000 cash to its victor. Not to mention all the preliminary and post-event tournaments that consistently guarantee prize pools in the six figures.
Full Tilt Poker has grown up quite a bit since late 2006, when PartyPoker decided to disallow U.S. players on its site due to the passage of the UIGEA. Many have argued that FTP benefited the most from Party's withdrawal from the U.S. market... and this could very well be true. However, it has been Full Tilt's commitment to tournament variety and large guaranteed prize pools that has allowed it to keep pace with PokerStars, which remains #1 in tournament player volume.
