The Full Tilt Online Poker Series set a record this February; paying out more in guaranteed prize money than ever before. This month's FTOPS concluded with the $500+30 $2 Million Guaranteed Main Event, which had 5,291 entrants for a total prize pool well over its guarantee. One of the big winners in the FTOPS was PocketFiver Chris "ilikeaces86" Olson (right), who took 1st Place in Event #12 for $257,000. In all, 25 PocketFivers finished in the Top 3 of the FTOPS events, with eight of those being outright victories. The action kicked off on February 6th, with the $200+16 No-Limit Holdem Event #1 that was won by "adog26," who earned a paycheck of $183,517. PocketFiver "bates35" placed 3rd in that same event for $71,487.
The next win by a P5'er came on February 8th, when "Bedard" took down the $200+16 Limit Holdem 6-handed Event #5 for a score of $49k. On the very next day, PocketFives.com members swept the Top 3 spots in the 6-handed Pot-Limit Omaha Event #6, as "gaffel5" won $83,200 for his 1st Place finish. Finishing 2nd was "Grumpy696," who beat out Joshua "bbbbb33" Weizer (left).Daniel Kochan, who goes by the name "kochan" online, moved up four spots in the Australia Sortable Rankings Leaderboard after his 2nd Place finish in Event #9, earning him $176,700 and making him the #4 ranked online tournament player in Australia.
Former ranked online tournament player Corey "muchaka" Cheresnick (right) had a six-figure score in this month's FTOPS, earning $148k for 3rd Place in the $1,000+60 6-handed No-Limit Holdem Event #10. Corey has a WPT final table to his credit as well, earning 5th Place in the Bay 101 Shooting Stars of Poker.
One of the most successful high-stakes Sit & Go tournament players on the Net, Danny "THE__D__RY" Ryan (left) was the runner-up in Event #12, earning him $170,000. Danny is currently ranked #10 in the world at online tournament play, according to the PocketFives.com Rankings.
Jeffrey "YoungSupremacy" Hakim (right) came out on top in the FTOPS Event #15, $200+16 6-handed No-Limit Holdem, for a cash of $72,600. He beat out PocketFiver Ryan "heftybags" Hefter, who placed 3rd for $32,700. With his victory, "YoungSupremacy" became one of the Top 10 online tournament players in Canada, and 1st in the province of Quebec.PocketFiver "majdasad" had a huge night on Sunday, February 17th, taking 2nd in the high-stakes $2,500+120 Event #17 for a bankroll boost of $307,800. Event #17 was one of the few online tournaments that took two days to complete. Also scoring big Sunday night was "ma77th3gr34t," who won the $240+16 Knockout Event #19 for $146k.
Jonas Klausen, whose online name is simply "Klausen" (left), took home the trophy for 1st place in Event #18, which was a $100+9 Pot-Limit Omaha with rebuys tourney, for $89k.
