PocketFivers anxious for the 12th Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) won't have to wait long. The 25 event series with over $18 million on the line will kick off on May 6th, culminating in a $2.5 million guaranteed Main Event 11 days later. In a move similar to the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP), each major tournament will also have a more affordable "MiniFTOPS" alternative. In many cases, MiniFTOPS events boast buy-ins and guarantees that are one-tenth of their more expensive counterparts. Each event at both the Mini and traditional stakes will be hosted by a member a Full Tilt pro.
In the last running of the FTOPS, PocketFiver Alan csimmsux Geyer pocketed $456,000 for the win. Finishing right behind him was KA1SERfknS0ZE, who banked a healthy $276,000 for his runner up finish. The $2,620 Two Day event makes its return to the FTOPS lineup this time around. Last year, Full Tilt member fyrtuk took home the gold in that tournament. However, the grueling event's buy-in will drop back down to $2,620 from $5,200. In addition, several FTOPS Challenge prop bets will also make an appearance, although a full list of these is not yet available.
PocketFiver Julian Verse took down FTOPS XI Event 4 last time out for $46,000. Other PocketFivers who scored big during the tournament series were chancew (first place in Event 8 for $168,000), gboro780 (first place in Event 10 for $275,000), and PiKappRaider, who emerged victorious from the pack in Event 17 for nearly a quarter of a million dollars.
