PocketFives had the opportunity to chat with Nevada member William georgemcfly Jacobs (pictured). He has won over $14,000 playing on WSOP.com and Ultimate Poker since both sites started up in Nevada. On most weeknights, you will not see him playing any earlier than 6:00 pm.

The Midnight Mayhem tournament may be one of his favorites, as he has played it 10 times this year, winning three outright. In October and November, he took down the $3,000 Nightly on WSOP.com. He has taken shots at the Sunday $15,000 and other larger events as well. Visit PocketFives’ Nevada poker community for the latest news and discussion from Nevada players.

PocketFives: How did you choose your screen name?

William Jacobs: My name was taken, of course, from “Back to the Future” (one of my favorites). He’s the underdog who comes out on top in the end.

PocketFives: How long have you been playing online poker?

William Jacobs: I’ve had my hands in and out of online poker sites since the PartyPoker days. I never played online as much as I do now.

PocketFives: To what do you attribute your current online success?

William Jacobs: There are so many important attributes to succeed in poker. I believe patience and persistence are the best ways to fight off the insane amount of variance online poker has to offer.

PocketFives: Do you play cash games as well?

William Jacobs: Absolutely. I enjoy $1/$2 and $2/$5. I love a good Mixed Game also. I’ve been putting most of my live hours in at MGM this past year.

PocketFives: What is your favorite game to play?

William Jacobs: Any form of poker seems to be my favorite go-to game. But, I do also enjoy hearts. Take my cards away and I’d probably play golf.

PocketFives: What is your favorite local poker room?

William Jacobs: My favorite all-time is Borgata in Atlantic City. Here in Las Vegas, I really enjoy the Wynn, but play mostly at MGM.
