Hoping things are turning around[ return to main articles page ]

I played a few tournaments this afternoon and got 7th in the Paradise 30 rebuy. I kind of have a bad taste because I went so card dead on the final table with raises in front of me. I never was in real danger until I got knocked out. No flips the entire tournament. I saw a few people come over the top with weak aces on the final table and get lucky, kind of a baffling play, but, oh well. The only thing you can really hope for is KJ KQ or 2 other random cards without and ace and still you are not that big a favorite. The one big hand that got me rolling was with around 25 left, I had KQ in the sb and just called a limp around 5 handed. K 9 2 flop with 2 dimonds, I didnt have one, and all check to the button who bets the pot, I feel I have the best hand and push in, he takes a few seconds and calls me with KJ no dimonds either. Obviously, with my checkraise, the best he's hoping for is that I'm on a dimond draw, but hes pretty much committed and no jack came through. It would have been nice to win, but I'll take the money. On to the next........
