A picture posted on Twitter by Mike Thorpe in recent days showed embattled Full Tilt Poker front man Howard Lederer playing in Bobby's Room at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. Spotted alongside Lederer at the table were the likes of Eli Elezra and Doyle Brunson (Thorpe's picture shown here). The session at the Bellagio is one of the first for Lederer since breaking his silence to the online poker community last month as part of a seven-part series from PokerNews entitled "The Lederer Files."

If you haven't watched "The Lederer Files," check out PocketFives' recaps of Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, and Part 7.

As you might expect, Lederer's poker session was heavily scrutinized. In a thread on Two Plus Two, one poster wrote that Lederer's public appearance might be a sign that players will unquestionably be paid back in full: "Guy has balls. He must know that the players are getting their money back, so everything's gonna be okay. Forget about the interest." Also reportedly at the Bobby's Room game in question were Phil Ivey and Huck Seed.

Another person countered by saying that poker rooms shouldn't take action from Lederer, whom the Federal Government accused one year ago of orchestrating a Ponzi scheme: "Whether we get paid or not, sooner or later, it doesn't absolve him from any wrongdoing in the matter. It would be really nice to see a major poker room tell him to GTFO and that he isn't welcome there ever."

Other members of the poker community called for a boycott of any casino that allows Lederer to play. The original poster in a thread on Two Plus Two tried to rally fellow players by saying, "If you see Howard walk in, stand up and walk out. Let the casinos know how you feel: e-mail them [and] don't gamble there. If enough people do this, it will send a message and cost them money by letting him play… I still haven't got my FTP funds and I definitely would not gamble at any casino that lets him play."

Another thread popped up on Two Plus Two about Lederer being spotted at Aria in Las Vegas. One poster questioned what would happen if Lederer were to show up at a casino like Harrah's or the Rio: "What if Howard wants to play at a Caesars property? Are you going to boycott the WSOP? What if he gets up and goes to the Venetian? Are you gonna boycott them too?"

MGM Resorts International owns the Bellagio as well as Vegas establishments like the MGM Grand, Mirage, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, New York New York, Excalibur, CityCenter, Monte Carlo, and Circus Circus.

According to a post on Planet Poker's Facebook page, security was present at Bobby's Room during Lederer's stint: "Howard Lederer (pictured) was playing in Bobby's Room at the Bellagio last night. What gonads to go there and walk right by the customers of Full Tilt. Oh yes, there was security at the door all night long."

Meanwhile, most Full Tilt players outside of the United States will be reunited with their funds on November 6, when the site will open its doors once again under the watchful eyes of its new owners, PokerStars. Players in the United States will undergo a yet-to-be-determined reclamation process through the Department of Justice in order to recoup their funds.

Whether U.S. players will receive their full account balances or a percentage on the Dollar is not clear. The DOJ was seeking claims administrator assistance, with applications due in August, but the agency has not announced any plans to repay players or established any time line in which to do so.

Should Lederer be allowed to play at the Bellagio? Will you take any action as a result? Let us know by posting here.

  1. "If you see Howard walk in, stand up and walk out." What about the rest of the scum bags, should go for tournaments also . Hate seeing high roller mtt know that I am paying for there life style.
  2. I know people have a lot anger towards Howard, but a boycott just seems silly. Should we organize a boycott of Starbucks if they serve him a coffee?

It doesn't make any real sense other than in an "Im angry at someone so I want bad things to happen to them" kind of way, which is kind of self-defeating if you're gonna attempt to make that happen by adding disproportionate inconveniences to your own life.

I mean I care about what happens with FTP and everyone's money on there, and I care that Lederer almost certainly behaved in some pretty slimy ways regarding all that. But I dont really care about what he does in his own time on his own dime.

  3. isn't this guy suppose to be in jail now? Someone call the DOJ and tell them where he is at.
  4. armstrong can never ride a bike professionally again, this fkn scumbag should never be allowed to play poker again - otherwise it will all just repeat itself, seriously does poker need him?

The situations aren't really equivalent. And Armstrong can still ride a bike as much as he wants, just not competitively in certain events.

  6. "and life goes on" thats what the headline should be. boycott doughfull, hes still got millions when not let his money in there.

It is the same, its stealing just the same. How much do you think Lance Armstrong received in endorsements by cheating. Its stealing all the same. He cant ride as a pro cyclist, Lederer shouldn't be able to play in sanctioned games back room or not. I cant play because of them why should he? We are in someways his backer and he isnt paying us our cut. He's freerollin
  8. Whether we get our money isn't the issue when it comes to Howard playing at any casino imo. He should do the right thing, for once and impose a self ban until the DOJ clears him of any wrongdoing or after he serves his time in jail. And I lost a lot of respect for the guys in that photo who were playing poker with Howard. I mean wtf, friends or not if you're seated at the same table with the guy you either think he's not guilty, feel sorry for him or don't give a crap about the thousands of US players who are effected by his companies thievery.
  9. People just got to soft, this man should not be walking out of any casino in anywhere. (At least not with his knees intact.

  10. Surprised this dickbag has the nerve to step into a casino. I didn't have any money on Full Tilt but still believe he should be ostracized from poker for life. Imagine if Bernie Madoff was allowed to open another investment business, it would be absolutely unheard of.
  11. "If you see him walk in, stand up and kick him in the balls." I think that is more effective than walking out.

    I like your line
  13. As long as the poker community do not create a regulatory authority, you will see such an assholes here and there.

agreed. who gives a shit what howard does on his own time.

  15. Pisses me off, Doyle and Eli good guys...Maybe not skilled enough to see thru howards bullshit..Doyle said he belived him cause he looked him in the eye and said, "I didnt know about it Doyle"....
His willingness to punk a old cowboy goes to show how low he is....He wont find too many comfortable tables to sit at...Just Doyles
  16. I agree with those who think that calling for a boycott is not the corrent move. At the end of the day, I understand why folks are angry at those affiliated with Full Tilt, but boycotting poker rooms that Howard chooses to play in is not going to make a huge diff in getting funds back. He's a grown man and can obviously play wherever he decides to. No point in kicking up a fuss, which isn't really going to resolve the problem.

You're missing the point. Boycotting won't get funds back any quicker, but that's not the point here. The point is that Howard put a lot of people in bad spots by the way he ran his company and instead of addressing the issue he went into hiding. Now that the company is sold he comes out and gives some bullshit interview and thinks all is well and forgiven. Howard should never ever feel comfortable entering a casino poker room again, yet he does. Boycotting a room he plays in will force the casino to ask him to leave. IMO he should be banned from the WSOP and WPT as well.
  18. I think all of you are missing the point here. If I remember correctly most people on this forum and others have recognized that the game has passed Howard by and that he's a bigger fish in the game than he will ever believe. If all of you who lost money on Full Tilt want it back, Howard seems to be playing again, so there's your chance.
  19. No doubt on last comment!!!! A LOT of you guys here can stack him...Get his money, donate a piece for some freerolls Fk hubble, call it the lederereerer freeroll... lets see how many people can get in into his account...Hell, I could stack him, he's got AK? (right?)....see?
  20. hmmmmmmmmm
