What started as the third largest field in World Series of Poker history, and second largest when you just count unique entrants, is down to 62 players. The $1,500 No Limit Hold’em Monster Stack will dole out a $1.3 million first place prize when a winner is crowned on Sunday or Monday. The restart happens on Sunday at 3:00pm PT.

Sean Drake leads the way with a stack of 4.97 million, just a hair out in front of Austin Bursavich, who has 4.91 million. Drake was a one-man wrecking crew on Saturday, busting Jeffrey Yeh with 7-7 against A-9 in a race. The board came 5-10-7-A-9, giving Drake a set to overpower Yeh’s aces-up for nearly one million in chips.

Just before that, Drake sent Aliosha Staes to the rail after the money went in on a flop of 5-Q-A. Staes showed A-9 for top pair, but Drake was well ahead with A-Q and held on for the win. That pot was worth 1.1 million in chips.

Tenth place belongs to Zachary HustlerGrune Gruneberg (pictured above), who posted on Twitter when play was done for the day, “Bagged 3,300,000 in the Monster, 62 left, 3:00 PM restart tomorrow, let’s get this gold. #GOLDMININGTHEMONSTER.” He had 1.4 million at the dinner break.

In an interview with PokerNews at that time on Saturday, Gruneberg recalled a hand in which he had 9-6 suited and the board eventually ran out 6-4-2-2-8. Gruneberg ended up scooping the hand on the river after his opponent instantly mucked to help build his stack and his confidence.

Joseph dude904 McKeehen bagged the fifth largest total in the Monster Stack event at 3.74 million. He won a Deep Stack Extravaganza tournament earlier this month for $101,000 and has a pair of WSOP Circuit rings. According to the Hendon Mob, he owns $1 million in career live scores. He has another $1.1 million in winnings from online MTTs that we’ve tracked.

Thayer THAY3R Rasmussen (pictured) is just behind Gruneberg on the leaderboard with 3.00 million. The tournament will mark Rasmussen’s seventh cash of the 2014 WSOP. He final tabled a $1,000 No Limit Hold’em event for 76 times his buy-in already.

Here are the top 10 stacks headed into Sunday’s restart of the Monster Stack:

Also at the WSOP on Sunday, the $1 million buy-in Big One for One Drop will kick off. At last check, there were 41 confirmed entrants, with players like Phil Hellmuth still frantically trying to raise funds to participate. Two days ago, Hellmuth Tweeted, “I still need $300,000 to play in @WSOP $1 million buy-in One Drop tourney on Sunday… Selling shares at 9% for $100,000.” He did not participate in the $111,111 buy-in version last year and finished fourth in the inaugural Big One two years ago.
