I ain't playin for no second Romeo[ return to main articles page ]
Ok what's crackin everyone? Been an eventful week pokerwise for me so I thought I'd throw something up here.
So after my last blog I was playin the 200 on UB last Sunday. It was the kind of tourney where not everything went that well to start, I didn't chip up, I was tired blah blah. Anyways things got rolling, my hands held up, people folded when they were supposed to, called when I wanted them to call, next thing I know we are in the top 20. <READMORE> I got a great stack when all of the sudden there is a debacle of a hand where I get it all in with 77 vs AJ, flop my set on a rainbow flop and boom runner runner flush. I am sick at this point, just wanna quit, JSUP sends me a message saying I can come back, FU JSUP.
I had 6k in chips with the blinds 3k-6k, oh ya im in the blind next hand. But I sat back down and things went right, double after double, and I made the final in good shape. Ok, point takin JSUP, I guess thats why you ball outta control. Final table was rough, ran into some awkward hands, and honestly, I felt I played flawless up to the final and kind of blew it there. I was really sick for a few days--6 handed for 36k and I couldn't take it down. Anyway, Beanie and JSUP finally talked me down from the ledge, and I guess I've recovered.
I also went out to Boston this weekend for a wedding. Hmmm Boston is close to Foxwoods, so I decided on a little detour. So I met up with LatestLines2 and Loewa79 out there and we sat in a decent sized game. Game was a blast, I played poor and lost all night, but ya I had fun because I don't get to play live often, and there was a time in the night I had a decent stack of black chips in front of me, which let me feel like I was ballin at least for a little bit. Sadly, by the end of the night, my losses made me feel un-balleresque, and I was sent packin with my tail between my legs (who says that?)
Anyways, I was walkin around Harvard's campus before I left today, tryin to feel smart. Turns out I ended up feeling like a moron around all these people who someday, if I am lucky, I will work for. Anyways, Boston, Great city, even though ya'll talk funny out there. I did also watch Tin Cup tonight. You know what, the end of that movie is amazing. Never play for fukin second place, I'm pretty sure thats the advice that all poker players need to be reminded of. Ya I know the movies fake, ya I know he lost in the end, but hey, he got the girl and became a legend, forget playin for second place ever. My final table play in the 200 was criticized by some, including my dad who noted that 5th paid 2k more then 6. He was right, and I was kinda torn, but Tin Cup cheered me up. I played to win--no one cares who took 5th or 2nd or whatever.
I'm pretty sure I'm rambling right now, not makin any sense. I dont care, it was a long weekend, great fun with the family I don't get to see much. Lots of family from the south side of Chicago, anyone from there knows the loud Irish type, these people are the perfect stereotype, and I had a blast with them. They did played Will Smith's Miami at the reception, and if you don't like that song, don't talk to me. All right, it's late and I haven't read this over, so I'm sorry to the 4 people who read this if it sucks. Is it ironic that Beanie is one of the most popular players online, has his own T-shirt line (unreal), and plays for a total of about 3 hours a week in an OWNS tourney that he consistently takes 27th in? Sorry, nothin but love beanie, thanks for stopping by. </READMORE>
