The hand took place at a 250,000-500,000 Pot Limit Six-Card Omaha table where there were six players seated with the following stack sizes:

Seat 1: JotaJotinha(22,470,000)
Seat 2: 1shini1(674,420,000)
Seat 3: blinds5(102,800,000)
Seat 4: overtetop(17,500,000)
Seat 5: Mitti7(490,580,000)
Seat 6: Sir_Ulrick 70 (194,480,000)

Before the flop, 1shini1 4bet to 24.75 million and got two takers to see a flop of 5h-7c-4h. Then, the action began, as Mitti7 bet 48.00 million, 1shini1 raised to 219.00 million, Mitti7 raised all-in to 465.83 million, and 1shini1 called. Mitti7 showed Jh-2c-6h-8d-7s-Kd, while 1shini1 showed 2h-Kc-3d-Kh-7d-5c.

After the 4c and Tc hit on the turn and river, respectively, Mitti7 showed an eight-high straight, while 1shini1 had a king-high flush and scooped the record-breaking pot.

According to Full Tilt, it was about a coin flip when the “money” went in: “The match-up – top pair, nut straight, flush draw, against overpair, better flush draw, top two pair, and backdoor flush draw – is quite close to 50-50, with the flopped nuts having a close to a 52%-48% favorite according to some back-of-the-envelope calculation.”

Six-card Omaha, as you’ve seen, means each player gets six hole cards instead of the normal four. Therefore, it’s easy to see why there’s so much betting, as each player has more cards (two to be exact) to work with, which makes for additional draws and possible outcomes. Just like in standard Omaha, players use two hole cards and three community cards to make their final five-card hand.
