Jason treysfull21Mercier (pictured) was the big winner of Monday’s action in the 2010 PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker(WCOOP). Mercier, a sponsored pro of the site, took down Event #42, a $1,050 No Limit Hold’em Two-Day Event, for a colossal $435,000 payday following a three-way deal. Mercier, a Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) champion and World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner, can now add a WCOOP victory to his extensive list of accomplishments.

Falling just outside of the chop of Event #42 and finishing in fourth place was Oklahoma’s GreatDANBino, who cashed for $179,000. In July, the Sooner won the PokerStars $50,000 Guarantee for $14,000. Also reaching the final nine was teamwispy, who owns the 148th spot worldwide in the PocketFives.com Poker Rankings and is nine days removed from earning the “W” in the PokerStars $125,000 Guarantee for $27,000.

Seventh place in the high-stakes Two-Day Event went to Germany’s bastet. His $73,000 payday was about $16,000 less than the $89,000 he picked up for final tabling a PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) $109 rebuy in May. On the same day, he won a SCOOP Mixed Pot Limit tournament for $83,000. bastet also owns a win in the Full Tilt Poker Sunday Brawl and is on top of the Sortable Rankings for his home nation.

Rounding out the talented final table in Event #42 was DoylesRoomBrunson 10 member Dani ansky451 Stern (pictured). Formerly a star of the G4 online poker reality series “2 Months, $2 Million,” Stern pulled down $42,000 last night. He also final tabled an FTOPS event back in April for $29,000. Here’s how the final nine shook out in the Two-Day Event, which also featured PokerStars pro Chad Brown:

In Event #43 of the 2010 WCOOP, Michael dapalma150Palma (pictured) walked away with the bracelet and an $85,000 bankroll boost following a three-way deal. Last December, Palma final tabled the Sunday Million and cashed for nearly $200,000, while in May, he finished third in a $530 tournament on PokerStars for $48,000. A total of 759 players entered the $320 Pot Limit Omaha Six-Max with Rebuys event and the top 96 finished in the money.

The only other member of the community to make the final table of Event #43 was Marcel marzello Novick, who hails from Uruguay. Novick pocketed $43,000 in the process and final tabled the PokerStars $100 rebuy and $55 rebuy in April and March, respectively, for a combined haul of $35,000. Last but not least, another Uruguayan made waves by taking down Event #38 of the 2010 PokerStars WCOOP, a $530 No Limit Hold’em Heads-Up Two-Day tournament. Fabrizio SixthSenSe19Gonzalez (pictured), who owns the top spot in the Sortable Rankings for Uruguay, banked $100,000 and the bracelet after defeating PokerStars member gipsy74 heads-up. The two actually forged a deal in the final pairing, leaving gipsy74 with $80,000 for second place.
