In a lengthy post on Two Plus Two, Justin Archuleta (pictured) confessed to allegedly scamming the poker community out of nearly $300,000. Whether the post, which has morphed into a 42-page thread, is a level or the real McCoy remains to be seen, but it has garnered quite a bit of attention from those affected as well as players concerned about account security.

Archuleta’s post begins with the following alleged confession: “I, Justin Archuleta, out of sound mind, body, and soul, admit to the theft of many poker players by using digital means of many scamming techniques: key-loggers, Chase Quickpay scam, PayPal scam, DDOS internet interference, third-party scams, chip dumping, credit card thefts, and Two Plus Two account breaching. Many of these I committed myself, and some with the help of another individual who had connection to Two Plus Two accounts in which I bought and gave a percentage of what I received from a scam.”

While the other individual was not identified in Archuleta’s post, we do know that the transgressions reportedly took place between December 2013 and January 2014. The amounts taken ranged between $500 and $100,000, the latter of which came at the expense of Micah Smith on Lock Poker. All told, the amount Archuleta said he stole was around $280,000. He closed by saying, “I am very sorry for what I did… Honestly, I know what it’s like. I’ve been burned a lot. But, I forgive all who trespassed against me. And hope you forgive me as well.”

There were plenty of miffed posters in the thread, including one who wrote, “You ruined my life for many, many months.” Another relayed, “You ****ed me pretty bad and cost me a lot of time and stress. The people you hurt aren’t just numbers.”

Archuleta added later in the thread that he has served time at Evins Regional Juvenile Center in Edinburg, Texas and advised players who don’t want to be scammed, “Don’t download EXE files. Have a complicated password that cannot easily be cracked. Don’t use PayPal. Use verification checks before making trades. Don’t send funds while any transfers are ‘pending.'”

Archuleta used a variety of religious undertones throughout his thread. Accordingly, he seems to have undergone a rejuvenation of sorts, posting, “I went through the whole grieving process and waited 10 months until I was ready to post this. I had the list made in January, but I didn’t feel like I was ready. I knew I was going to confess publicly, I just didn’t know when. I was almost murdered again this year and finally gave up growing pot for good. I realized I was actually limited in that business and I wanted to pursue my real dream. I was given my dream. I pick fruit.”

Archuleta said he works full-time at a ranch and also refinishes furniture. Additionally, he’s “studying high-tech greenhouse plants with organic growing techniques. I hope to build $10,000 in investments by November to construct a winter greenhouse. Hopefully, with success in early spring, I plan to send a detailed plan for future growth to the government in hopes of receiving a grant.” He also briefly teased the possibility of writing a book.

So what do you think? Is this a giant level or stone cold reality? Check out the thread and then post here and let us know.
