According to SBC Newsand an FAQ formerly found on its site, Lucky Ace Poker is closing by December 28. Players will be funneled to 888 Poker, which ran Lucky Ace on the same network.

SBC explained, “The defunct poker brand had been in service for eight years, primarily used by 888 to target the German market. In November, 888 had halted new customer signups to the Lucky Ace brand as it prepared to cease its services. Lucky Ace players, media partners, and affiliates have been communicated regarding the brand closure.”

SBC added, “888 detailed that the decision to close Lucky Ace was undertaken in order to concentrate growth and corporate resources on its in-house managed 888 Poker room.” An FAQ on Lucky Ace Poker, which now simply forwards to 888’s home page, was primarily being used to relay what 888 was and when the move would take place.

Pokerfuse added that in recent weeks Lucky Ace’s software was only available to existing customers and could not be downloaded by newcomers.

According to PokerScout, which keeps tabs on online poker traffic, 888 is the second largest online poker network in the world, with a seven-day running average of 2,309 real money ring game players. PokerScout also notes that the network includes LotosPoker, TowerTorneos, and WSOP’s UK site.

Other 888-owned, non-poker brands include Reef Club Casino, BingoStreet, TastyBingo, Posh, and Bingo Fabulous.
