Week by week, the Monthly PocketFives.com Leader Board grows more and competitive. The eight winners so far have shown what being an online poker pro is all about. From November’s champ atimos to last month’s champ, timex, the list of Monthly PLB champs represents the best of the best. Joining these two are gotcha55 (May’s champ), P0KERPR033 (April’s champ), YourTimeIsUp (March’s champ), emptyseat88 (February’s champ), ComeOnPhish (January’s champ), and BeL0WaB0Ve (December’s champ). Each month, a PLB Champions Match is held, pitting the winner of the most recent month against the standing PLB Match winner.
Rising with light speed through the PocketFives.com Leader Board in recent months, timex claimed the title of PLB Champion for the month of June. With stunning play throughout the month, he was able to make the final table on 11 different occasions and accumulate over $136,000 and 2,451.55 points in his efforts. His biggest finishes came with play on Stars $109+R, where he finished second twice and won once. All three of these finishes gave timex over $20,000 each along with one of the best sets of recent scores for the month of June. Timex also conquered Full Tilt Poker's $18,000 Guaranteed and took home close to $7,000. He’ll have to put his skills to the test when he goes head-to-head with April’s PLB winner P0KERPR033 on PokerStars for $1,000. He comments on the match, “I recently won a coin flip against ch0ppy (breaking his streak of 18 wins in a row), so I have a feeling luck may be on my side. Looking at my heads up results and looking at POKERPR033’s, it appears skill is on his side.”
No stranger to the PLB, P0KERPR033 (pictured at right) has recently become King of the Mountain, sitting atop of the PocketFives.com Online Tournament Player Rankings. The PLB Champ for the month of April has made quick moves with precision and consistency throughout the year. In April, the California native was able to pocket over $200,000 with a huge win in the Stars Sunday Million. Making Final Tables 12 times that month, he was also able to place first twice on UltimateBet and thrice on Stars. Taking down over 2,270 points in April, P0KERPR033 was matched up against Aaron “gotcha55” Kanter in last month’s PLB Head’s-Up Match for $1,000. After defeating Kanter, Campbell is attempting to maintain his current title against timex. He told PocketFives prior to the heads up match, “I am looking forward to the match. Timex is a very good player and also very aggressive. I’m sure there will be a lot of three bets and, overall, it should be a fun match.”PocketFives.com Co-Founder Adam Small comments on the heads up match between timex and P0KERPR033 tonight: “P0KERPR033 is the first person to win the MPLB match two months in a row. Timex always brings is best game to the table and it'll be tough to make it three in a row, but the way PR0's been playing, you better believe it's going to be a battle.”
So come check out the heads up battle. It takes place tonight at 7pm ET on PokerStars. The prize: $1,000 and a chance to face off against July’s PLB champ. The match is featured in the Private Tournaments tab. Visit PokerStars today.
