Over the weekend, a new record was set on PocketFives. England’s Chris moorman1Moorman (pictured) earned his 16th PocketFives Triple Crown, extending his own mark. The next closest person on PocketFives has 11 Triple Crowns, or five fewer than the Brit. Let’s see how Moorman managed to pull off the record-setting feat this time.

As a refresher, a Triple Crown requires a player to win three $10,000 prize pool tournaments across three sites tracked for the PocketFives Rankings in a one-week period. For Moorman, the journey began on September 28 with a victory in the bwin $30,000 Guaranteed, a $200 buy-in tournament that attracted 200 players. The win was good for $9,600 and nearly 200 PLB Points.

The next day, Moorman was back at it, this time taking down the PokerStars $109 No Limit Hold’em Turbo for $5,600 and 170 PLB Points. That tournament attracted nearly 300 players to almost double its guarantee of $15,000 and featured PocketFivers in 39% of the cashing positions.

Moorman wrapped up his carnage on October 5 with a victory in the PokerStars.fr Big €50 for $2,200 and 103 PLB Points, the smallest leg of his PocketFives Triple Crown by cash amount and PLB tally. However, the tournament still drew 175 participants and PocketFivers made up one-quarter of the in the money finishers.

Moorman took the full seven days allotted to win his latest Triple Crown, posting on Twitter, “16th Triple Crown shipped with a couple of hours to spare #neverindoubt.” He recently became the first player in the history of PocketFives to eclipse $10 million in tracked cashes, about $4.8 million of which has come on PokerStars alone. Moorman is over $3 million ahead of the next closest player on PocketFives in terms of tracked online MTT cashes across all sites. His cash total at the time is pictured.

This is Moorman’s fourth Triple Crown of 2013. His all-time record for Triple Crowns in a single year is six, set in 2009. He has four tracked six-figure cashes and 15 cashes of at least $50,000. Congrats to Moorman on his latest claim to fame.
