In Nevada, WSOP.comran its four $3,000 events as scheduled, with all events exceeding their guarantees. There were 245 runners with a total prize pool of $15,275. Thirty-nine players cashed in these events. The player with the highest cash win was VPIHokie1970, with a payout of $1,239.75 for taking down Wednesday night’s event. This is VPIHokie1970’s third major takedown this year.

A common theme that many of these finishers share is that they are tournament grinders. We record just the higher payout events, but many of these players can be seen in all types of buy-in events, including the freerolls. A few of the WSOP.com grinders this month who have cashed, but have not yet taken down a first place finish include AtomBomb, catfoodplate, freezer, jfk87, MrBeaumont, pitifool, whiteyslacks, and wmagic2. All of these players have cashed in at least five events in the first three weeks of the year.

This week, Ultimate Poker held four tournaments with first place payouts approaching $1000 or more, the $2,500 Nightly events. There were 127 runners generating a prize pool of $11,235 and paying a total of 20 spots. The highest cash this week went to P5er Phil USCphildo Collins for $1,228.94. Collins has taken four of these events so far this month, winning three in a row last weekend as well.

The following are the tournament results for this week from WSOP.com and Ultimate Poker, the two legal and regulated online poker sites in Nevada. Check out our Nevada poker community for the latest news and discussion from Nevada players.
