In Nevada, WSOP.comkicked off its weekend with four events with first place payouts approaching $1,000 or more. WSOP.com had 256 runners vying for the 39 available prizes totaling $27,050. The player with the highest individual cash this weekend on WSOP.com was rpropsin the Sunday $15,000 Guaranteed for $4,350. That event fell short of meeting its guarantee by $1,400.

It is interesting to note that some players who have had success in taking down events in 2013 are struggling in the first 12 days of 2014. BachoB, featured in an interview with PocketFives, has managed only a third place finish this year.

Some of regulars on the leaderboard in 2013 appear to have taken some time off in 2014. Not seen lately are blackeleven, JaminOnFaces, jchak, and jg.allin, just to mention a few.

This weekend saw Ultimate Poker run five events with first place payouts approaching $1,000 or more. There were 237 runners fighting for the 28 prize spots available, totaling $22,517. The player with the highest individual cash was AcerNutsAKin the Sunday $10,000 for $3,178.30.

PocketFives member and Team U Pro Phil USCphildo Collins (pictured above) has set the bar high this weekend by taking down three $2,500 events in a row, winning $3,438 total. At minimum, Collins has cashed in at least 28 events on Ultimate Poker where the first place payouts were at least $1,000. He has taken first place in at least nine events since we started keeping track.

The following are the tournament results for the weekend from Ultimate Poker and WSOP.com, the two legal and regulated online poker sites in Nevada. Visit our Nevada poker community for the latest news and discussion from Nevada players.
