Let’s recap the weekend in Nevada! WSOP.com kicked off its weekend with four events with first place payouts approaching $1,000 or more. WSOP.com had 254 runners vying for 42 available prizes totaling $26,650. The player with the highest individual cash this weekend on WSOP.com was VPIHokie1979 in the $15000 event for $4,902. This is VPIHokie1979’s fourth cash and second outright win since coming on the scene on WSOP.com in December 2013.

ATLien is another player who has recently come on the WSOP.com scene and already has four wins, including two in the $3,000 events, and is a name to watch out for in the coming weeks. By taking second place on Friday in the $3,000 on WSOP.com, catfoodplate has amassed a total of 18 cashes for $6,325 to date, a pace that is going to be hard to keep in 2014.

Three other names to watch in the New Year are BeTheLight, blackeleven, and BShriever5. These players each have 13 or more cashes and, as a group, have won over $27,849.

This weekend saw Ultimate Poker run five events with first place payouts approaching $1,000 or more. There were 212 runners fighting for the 35 prize spots available totaling $21,109. The player with the highest individual cash was Money Beets in the Sunday $10,000 for $2,952.
