We’re just a few months away from the start of the World Series of Poker at the Rio in Las Vegas and excitement is beginning to build. Just about every week from now until the Main Event, WSOP.com is running satellites for the Main Event as well as for any $1,500 event. These tickets are non-transferable and may only be used for the purpose stated in the tournament lobby.

If you win a Main Event seat, you can only use one, while the $1,500 seats can be used in any of the $1,500 events. There are about 25 of those, so you could win and use multiple tickets for the $1,500 seats. Players should be aware that while you cannot sell or cash in these tickets and can only use them to play in the events, there are tax consequences for winning a seat.

WSOP.com kicked off its weekend with four major events. WSOP.com had 307 runners vying for the 42 available prizes totaling $40,825. One of the events was a $215 buy-in tournament with the top prize of an entry into the 2014 WSOP Main Event worth $10,000. The player with the highest individual cash this weekend on WSOP.com was butters in the WSOP Main Event Qualifier, winning a $10,000 seat.

This weekend saw Ultimate Poker run five major events. There were 216 runners fighting for the 29 prize spots available, totaling $23,055.75. The player with the highest individual cash was Piejay in the Sunday $10,000 for $5,936. That event had an overlay of $1,264, as the guarantee was not met.

The following are the tournament results for the weekend from WSOP.com and Ultimate Poker, the two legal and regulated online poker sites in Nevada. Visit PocketFives’ Nevada poker community for the latest news and discussion from Nevada players.
