The partypoker Powerfest is back – this time with more events and even bigger guarantees.

Due to the smashing success of partypoker’s $5 million Powerfest series earlier this year, the online poker site has decided to bring the festival back, this time guaranteeing a record-breaking $7.8 million in prize money over 172 events.

Powerfest runs May 1 – May 22 and includes tournaments accessible to players of all bankrolls, with buy-ins ranging from $5.50 – $5,200. The three-week long series is divided using partypoker’s Power Series classes – Featherweight, Middleweight, Heavyweight and Highroller – and features several Main Events which close the action each week.

The tournaments start small, with buy-ins and guarantees working their way up each week. During Week 1, players can jump in to tournaments with buy-ins from $5.50 – $11. The Featherweight category guarantees total payouts of $390,000 throughout the week, and features an $11 buy-in Main Event with its own $50,000 Guarantee.

The Middleweight class runs from May 8 – 15 and will feature events in the $22 – $55 range. In total, $840,000 will be paid out to players in Week 2, with the Sunday Main Event guaranteeing $100,000 in prize money.

The Heavyweights will battle for a guaranteed prize pool of $2.9 million from May 15 – May 22. Buy-ins start at $109 and max out at $215, the entry price for the $500,000 Guarantee Sunday Main Event.

The biggest prize pools, however, are reserved for the High Roller events, which run concurrently with the Heavyweight tournaments. A total of $3.6 million will be paid to players over several events, which feature buy-ins ranging from $530 – $1,050.

This go-round, partypoker has made an addition to the Powerfest schedule, offering a $5,200 buy-in, $1 million Guaranteed Super High Roller event, which plays out on May 22.

“Powerfest has become an iconic event for partypoker and after listening to feedback from our players earlier this year we have decided to run it again, bigger and better than ever!,” said partypoker Group Head Tom Waters. “The $7,800,000 Guarantee is the largest that partypoker has ever offered, giving players of all bankroll sizes the chance to win big, with buy-ins from $5.50 to $5,200.”

Partypoker’s previous Powerfest guaranteed $5 million and was paid out over four weeks and 98 events. ‘DipesLIVES’ and Ivan ‘ivanvilchez8’ Vilchez chopped the Week 4 Main Event, banking $152,000 and $136,000 respectively.
