PokerStars TCOOP Begins January 21

On January 21, PokerStars launches a new season of TCOOP, or the Turbo Championship of Online Poker. This year, there’s a total guarantee of $15 million. With the help of MacroPoker, 2CardsCollege analyzed the statistics of the previous three series and present the most interesting stats and number they found.

TCOOP Stats

We are examining the three last TCOOPs: 2013, 2014, and 2015.

Year by year, the number of the unique players in the series has decreased. There were 84,000 entries in 2013 versus 73,000 in 2014 and 51,000 in 2015.

There were a total of 596,446 players registered in TCOOP events during those three years.

181 players entered more than half the tournaments in the last three years.

21 players entered more than three-quarters of the tournaments.

The biggest tournament of the series is typically the first one, a $27 Six-Max event. In 2014, it had 25,590 participants. This year, it has a ‘Phase’ format. Phases 1 and 2 are being held every day throughout January, while Phase 3 will be held on January 21.

For the three series, PokerStars has collected $3.745 million in rake from TCOOP events.

The guarantee of the Main Event hasn’t changed; it has always been $2 million. In 2013, the Main Event had 5,060 players. In 2014, there were 4,600. In 2015, there were just 4,169.

Thus far, no one has won two TCOOP tournaments in a row.
