Four days are in the books at the World Poker Tour's (WPT) L.A. Poker Classic. The tournament, which crowns a winner on Thursday, is down to its final 20 players, including four PocketFivers. Dan Raidan Lu sits in ninth place with 662,000 chips. Right behind him is a familiar name atop the L.A. Poker Classic leader board, Mike SowersUNCC Sowers, who has 626,000 chips. Also still in contention are Peter Nordberg Feldman and Blake Balla-B13 Cahail. The field is chasing Chris Ferguson, who holds a commanding 1.7 million chips, one of five players with a seven-figure stack. PocketFivesLive.com, which provides WPT coverage of online poker players, is at the Commerce Casino for the festivities.

The tournament began on Saturday with 696 players. Four days later, just 20 remain. Dan Raidan Lu held the eighth largest chip stack entering Tuesday's play, just ahead of Ferguson. His live poker experience includes a 16th place finish in a $1,500 buy-in No Limit Hold'em tournament during the 2008 World Series of Poker (WSOP) for $21,000. In the Viejas Poker Classic held last month outside of San Diego, he took fifth for $29,000. Lu will look to make the six-handed televised final table when play kicks off today in Los Angeles.

Mike SowersUNCC Sowers (pictured at left) holds the tenth largest chip stack of 626,000 entering the play down day. He's held firm near the top of the leader board throughout much of the event and boasted the second largest chip stack entering play on Tuesday. Early on yesterday, Sowers doubled up fellow PocketFiver Tom titantom32 Braband holding pocket jacks against Braband's K-J. Braband caught one of the three remaining kings on the flop to stay alive. He ultimately took 23rd place and cashed for $44,000.

PocketFivesLive.com Tournament Reporter Court Harrington describes Tuesday's session for Sowers: "He was able to survive a rollercoaster day where his stack was all over the place, losing some key pots, but always recovering and bouncing back. Being able to weather the storm on Day 4 should give him even more confidence going into the play down day." Harrington discussed Sowers' prospects of making his first WPT final table: "Out of the 20 remaining players, only six will make the final table, but with the skill and concentration Sowers has brought thus far, he should be on the short list of those likely to make it." Sowers received television exposure on ESPN during the 2008 WSOP, making the final table of Event 1, the $10,000 Pot Limit Hold'em Championship. He took eighth place in that tournament and cashed for $99,000.

Peter Nordberg Feldman (pictured at right) holds the 14th largest stack at the Commerce Casino with 423,000. Feldman has not one, but two WSOP Circuit Event Championship wins under his belt. He finished first in New Orleans in 2006 for $532,000. Two years ago, he won the San Diego installment for another $280,000, outlasting a talented final table that also featured Gavin Griffin, Danny Wong, Shane Shaniac Schleger, and Gavin Smith. Feldman bubbled the final table of the WPT Borgata Poker Classic during Season IV, taking seventh for $73,000.

Harrington commented on Feldman's demeanor at the table: "He quietly goes about his business, showing up deep in many tournaments, playing solid poker day after day. He has done it again here at the L.A. Poker Classic. Feldman is in the middle of the pack with only 20 players left, sitting in great position to make a push to the final table." Feldman logged one cash during the 2008 WSOP, a $39,000 payday for finishing 12th in a $1,000 rebuy tournament. Feldman and Sowers will be seated next to each other at Table 3 when play resumes on Wednesday at Noon Pacific Time.

Blake Balla-B13 Cahail (pictured at left) also remains in contention in the WPT tournament. The PocketFiver sits with the 16th largest stack out of the 20 remaining players at 310,000. Cahail took third in a $10,000 buy-in No Limit Hold'em event held during the Wynn Classic in Las Vegas last March for $177,000. In October, he finished second in a $3,000 buy-in preliminary event during the Festa al Lago for $63,000, a tournament won by PocketFiver David Davidp18 Peters. In the last two months, Cahail has won the $150 buy-in $65,000 Guaranteed on Full Tilt Poker for $19,000 and the $100 buy-in $50,000 Guaranteed on PokerStars for $11,000. On Tuesday, Cahail busted fellow PocketFiver Shawn sprstoner Glines with pocket eights against Glines' Q-8 on the short stack. Glines took 34th place for $38,000.

Just a suggestion for tournament reporters, could you add blind and / or level information to the reports. I enjoy seeing what the chipstacks are heading into the final couple days but would like to see what the blinds are in relation to the stacks. Thanks.

 2.
Good point, Diggs. I've added the current blind levels to this article (6k/12k with 2k ante) and we'll make sure to include that info in future updates as well. :)
