The UltimateBet Online Championship is running at full steam. Over $2,000,000 in guarantees, the chance to battle 10-time bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth, a silver bracelet to each winner, and an extra $2,500 from UB to any PocketFiver who wins an event has induced some of online poker’s biggest names to flock to the site. The result: a near sweep of the first five events for members of PocketFives.com and over $100,000 in first place prize money.

PocketFiver longhorn757 (pictured above) took down Event #2, Pot Limit Omaha. This $215 event had a $50,000 guarantee. According to longhorn757, winning Pot Limit Omaha was a far different experience from taking down a NLHE event: "The final table showed just how different Pot Limit Omaha was from my usual game of preference, No Limit Hold'Em. The final table was much less erratic than No Limit Hold'Em final tables and there were fewer chip swings. The eliminations were methodical.” He battled fellow PocketFiver leggggggggggy heads up, amassing a 2:1 chip lead heading into heads up play. “Although winning $14,000 was nice, the UltimateBet bracelet was the real crowning accomplishment that sets me apart from my competitors. After all, they say that poker is just a game and the bracelets are just a way to keep score."

The next night, blur5f6 won the No Limit Hold’Em $250,000 guarantee, the 3rd UBOC event, for over $56,000. PocketFivers made up eight of 10 players at the final table. Others included adanthar, makisupa, rdcrsn, BeL0WaB0Ve, cdbr3799, gbmantis, and isuck123. The 4th UBOC event saw PFabe (pictured at left) emerge victorious in the $60,000 guaranteed Limit Hold’Em event, cashing for $20,000. Last week, PFabe won the Stars $300 for $50,000 as well. PFabe comments on his limit hold'em experience: "Not being a very well experience limit player, I was not sure what to expect. I tried to play as aggresive as I could with my top hands and slow down a bit with drawing hands. I'm still learning the game of limit, which I used to despise, but I've starting to enjoy it more and more everytime I play it."

Finally, ndgrinder59, playing on UB as thereal mccoy, took home $13,000 and a silver bracelet in the Limit Omaha $40,000 guaranteed event, the 5th in the UBOC. Down to a mere 400 chips in the 100/200 blind level, ndgrinder59 was dealt A-A-Q-2, tripled up, and, in his words, “never looked back.” Heads up play saw ndgrinder59 take on fellow PocketFiver and ranked player PearlJammer: “The play at the final table was very tough, but ultimately the cream rose to the top when PearlJammer and I got heads up. It was a very difficult heads up match against one of the best MTT players out there.” PearlJammer took home $7,750 for second place.

The UBOC runs through December 10th and culminates with a $530 No Limit Hold’Em event with a $1 million guarantee. Each final table is covered online as well as by Bluff Radio. To listen in on the action, visit www.bluffmagazine.com/radio or turn your Sirius satellite radio to channel 122.
