Brand new to PocketFives is the Poker Advice and Strategy Forum, which replaced Poker Discussion. We have been hard at work creating this forum, which we hope will become ground zero for dialogue about poker hands, lines, and strategies. You can access the new forum by hovering your mouse over “Poker Forums” in the upper left of the page and scrolling down to “Poker Advice and Strategy.” Poker Advice and Strategy posts also appear in the “All Poker Forums Combined” view.

There are a few features we’ve integrated into the Poker Advice and Strategy in order to make it as unique as possible. First, PocketFives has partnered with PokerCube to incorporate an all-new hand replayer. To use it, click on “Add a Hand History Replay Video to Your Post” when you create a thread. The replayer supports Hold’em hands from a variety of online poker networks. You can also post the text version of the hand history if you’d like, as many users are accustomed to doing.

The new Poker Advice and Strategy Forum allows members to up-vote posts. If you see a response you like, click “Raise” to up-vote it. Replies are color-coded depending on how many Raises they’ve gotten, helping those reading the thread find the most highly rated replies swiftly. The darker the green background on a post, the more Raises it has received. You can Raise as many posts in a thread as you deem worthy.

You’ll see a brand new Poker Advice Leaderboard in the upper left of any Poker Advice and Strategy thread. The Leaderboard displays the names of members whose posts have been Raised the most in the last 30 days. And, as an additional reason to think long and hard about your responses in the forum, coaches in the PocketFives Coaching Directory will now be listed in order of ranking on the Poker Advice Leaderboard.

If you want to be listed in our Coaching Directory, e-mail support@pocketfives.com and we’ll explain how to do it. And if you’re already listed in the PocketFives Coaching Directory, we encourage you to become more active in the Poker Advice and Strategy Forum in order to move your way up the Poker Advice Leaderboard and Coaching Directory.

Here are a few pieces of advice when posting in the forum in general. First, give as much detail as you can and try to include the hand history and any background you feel is relevant. Any response needs to be at least 200 characters long in order to receive a Raise.

Let us know if you have any feedback on the forum. We’re looking forward to the Poker Advice and Strategy Forum being a longstanding part of PocketFives.
