Sweden’s ‘C Darwin2’ became the #1 player in the PocketFives Rankings for the fourth time

On February 10, Sweden’s ‘C Darwin2‘ ascended to the top of the PocketFives Rankings for the first time. He held down the #1 spot in the world for seven weeks before relinquishing his throne to fellow Swede ‘lena900‘ on March 30.

Four weeks later, ‘C Darwin2’ was back on top, albeit for a week. After another seven days, however, he once again led the way in the rankings, this time holding down the fort for three weeks ending June 1. Last Wednesday, Brazil’s Joao ‘joaosimaobh’ Simao became #1, but ‘C Darwin2’ wouldn’t let him revel for too long.

This week, ‘C Darwin2’ moved into the top spot worldwide for the fourth time. He has a PLB score of 8,215 points to lead the way and is 73 ahead of Simao, who is in second place with 8,142 points. Therefore, there could easily be another changing of the guard next week.

Both ‘C Darwin2’ and Simao have virtually identical lifetime cash totals of $4.2 million. It took ‘C Darwin2’ 2,284 cashes to get there, an average of $1,849 each, while Simao has 3,979 in the money finishes for his career, an average of $1,066 each. They have five combined six-figure cashes for their careers and almost 500 total top-three finishes in online MTTs.

Phil ‘philroyal888’ Mighall entered the top 10 at #8, his highest ranking ever

Joining ‘C Darwin2’ and Simao in the top 10 is Phil ‘philroyal888’ Mighall, who moved up from #16 to #8. This UK player won the PokerStars $1,050 Sunday Grand PLO three days ago for $38,000 and an even 400 PLB Points, the sixth largest score of his career. A week before that, he took down the $215 Fat Tuesday on PokerStars and earned $15,000.

This is the highest Mighall has ever been ranked on PocketFives and he’s up to #2 in the UK. His four online MTT wins in May pushed his career total to 46 and he’s less than $30,000 away from hitting $2 million in lifetime winnings.

“It’s a great achievement,” Mighall said of reaching #8. “I’m feeling very proud.”

Mighall was the lone new entrant into the top 10 this week. Joining them next week could be Sweden’s ‘eisenhower1‘, who moved up from #24 to #11. ‘eisenhower1’ was ranked #1 on PocketFives as recently as January and just hit $8.5 million in career online winnings, the seventh most of anyone.

‘eisenhower1’ took second in the 888 Super XL Main Event in May for $158,000, the second largest score of his online poker career and one of four scores of at least $14,000 he turned in last month.

Canada’s Sebastian ‘p0cket00’ Sikorski advanced 13 spots to #32. He’s a former #1 ranked player and finished second in the PokerStars Hot $215 on May 29 for $13,000 and 216 PLB Points. He had 23 top-10 finishes in May and was last ranked #1 on PocketFives in 2014. Sikorski is the #3 player in Canada and #2 in Ontario.

Alex ‘Dynoalot’ Difelice shot up 24 spots to #74

Another Canadian, Alex ‘Dynoalot’ Difelice, made waves after moving up 24 spots to #74. He took fourth in the PokerStars Sunday Grand over the weekend and booked a $26,000 payday. Two weeks before that, he finished second in a SCOOP $2,100 No Limit Hold’em Three-Max Turbo and put back $71,000, the largest score of his online poker career.

Difelice was ranked as high as #43 on PocketFives three years ago and is now the third-ranked player in his hometown of Toronto. He has $2.7 million in career online winnings and is nearing 4,000 total cashes.

Brazil’s Rodrigo ‘rodckz’ Motoki entered the top 100 at #96, his highest ranking ever. He took down the Big $55 last week for $9,800 and finished 46th in the SCOOP High Main Event for $27,000 in May. He’s the fifth-ranked player in Brazil and is up to $1.1 million in career online winnings.

Three spots behind Motoki on the leaderboard is Colombia’s Mayu ‘marroca5’ Roca Uribe, who reentered the top 100 this week. Uribe, the second-ranked player in Colombia, final tabled the PokerStars Super-Sized Sunday and Hot $215 in the last week for over $16,000 combined. He has $4.3 million in career winnings.
