There’s a new #1 player in the PocketFives Online Poker Rankingsthis week. His name is mindgamer(pictured) and he became the first new #1 on PocketFives in four weeks. mindgamer, who calls Austria home, is a scant $8,000 away from passing $3 million in tracked online poker scores in his PocketFives profile and fresh off a victory in the PokerStars Double Vision Sunday Million for an incredible $222,000.

His Sunday Million win was worth a hefty 1,219 PLB Points and came one day after a third place finish in the PokerStars Big $109 for $13,000 and 199 PLB Points. He plays as Jedi AllStar on Full Tilt and was up one spot on the week in the Rankings from #2 to #1. We could see a changing of the guard next week, however, as the first and third ranked players are separated by just over 120 points.

Sweden’s inhoo charged from #16 worldwide to #7, one spot short of his highest ranking ever. Like mindgamer, inhoo had a blockbuster weekend that included a second place finish in an FTOPS Two-Day event for $162,000 officially and 676 PLB Points. On the first day of December, inhoo took third in the Sunday Kickoff for $20,000 and another 250 PLB Points.

Amazingly, Swedish players own four of the top seven spots in the Rankings. Goteborg’s Sheaterstands at #3 worldwide and has $4.1 million in tracked cashes. His average cash comes in at $981 and you can find him playing as gnetarenon PokerStars. Recent Triple Crownwinner and Stockholm resident lukethafluke is #4 worldwide, his highest spot ever, and he is just $7,000 away from $3 million in winnings.

Skane Lan’s Smeckten(pictured) is also from Sweden and is camped out at #6 worldwide with $1.6 million in career earnings. He won a Triple Crown this month and has seven tracked wins to his credit since November 25. The last Swedish player in the top seven, inhoo, is #7 worldwide. Way to go, Sweden! You are #2 in the PocketFives Country Poker Rankings and, interestingly, you are just 1,800 PLB Points short of overtaking Canada for the #1 spot on that leaderboard.

Mexico’s DownByDaBridgemoved up from #59 worldwide to #21 this week. Propelling him was a win in an FTOPS event on December 4 for $62,000 and 526 PLB Points. There were 13 registered PocketFivers in the top 18 of that tournament, three of whom are in the top 100. DownByDaBridge won the August Monthly PLB award to boot.

Finally, we want to single out Lithuania’s Merceko, who entered the top 100 this week at #77, his highest ranking ever. He won last weekend’s iPoker Network Sunday Special for $34,000 and 451 PLB Points. On December 3, Merceko finished second in the PokerStars Big $162 and reeled in $18,000. He won a Triple Crown last month and is the top dog in the Lithuania poker community.
