On Sunday, the [EXTERNALURL=”http://www.pocketfives.com/visit/draftkings”]DraftKings[/EXTERNALURL] Fantasy Football World Championship (FFWC) was held in San Diego, featuring 200 entries and a massive prize pool. Everyone who played was guaranteed $20,000, while the top 10 received $100,000 plus a ticket to the $15 Million FFWC Grand Final, which will take place on January 16 and 17. The winner of the Grand Final gets $5 million and the finale will be covered for a feature on ESPN.

In the end, a host of poker players finished near the top of the leaderboard, including Peter NordbergFeldman (pictured), who plays as DandyDonon DraftKings and finished second, getting $100,000 and a FFWC Grand Final ticket. Feldman has almost $650,000 in tracked online scores in his PocketFives profile, 15% of which came after winning the [EXTERNALURL=”http://www.pocketfives.com/visit/full-tilt-poker”]Full Tilt[/EXTERNALURL] $1K Monday in 2009.

Feldman is #6 on the all-time live money list for Michigan, according to the Hendon Mob, and has $1.5 million in live MTT winnings. He won the WSOP Circuit Championship Event in New Orleans in 2006 for $532,000 and did the same in San Diego one year later for another $280,000. In addition to his lineup that finished second, Feldman had a lineup get 118th.

Also heading to the Grand Final is Aaron aejones Jones (pictured), who finished fifth. Jones has $400,000 in tracked online cashes in his PocketFives profile. Jones is #5 on the all-time live money list for Indiana, according to the Hendon Mob, and bubbled the WPT Festa al Lago televised final table in 2009 for $129,000. He made a few cameos on the G4 poker series “2 Months, $2 Million” back in 2009.

Cory Albertson, who plays on DraftKings as rayofhope, had two lineups in the FFWC that finished 158th and 180th. Albertson finished third in the [EXTERNALURL=”http://www.pocketfives.com/visit/party-poker”]PartyPoker[/EXTERNALURL] Million VI Cruise in 2008. Amid the DraftKings data leak that occurred earlier this season, he was quoted in the Wall Street Journal as saying, “Additional safeguards are needed in order to promote the right regulatory framework for daily fantasy. If done right, Americans of all kinds, including me, will be able to safely enjoy playing daily fantasy sports for decades to come.”

PocketFives co-founder Cal Spears also had two lineups in the FFWC, finishing 12th and 114th. Spears founded the daily fantasy sports community RotoGrinders and was hurt by Adrian Peterson’s injury-filled day and Brandon Bolden’s disappearing act against Tennessee. Nevertheless, 12th place paid $100,000.

We assume Feldman, Jones, Albertson, and Spears will be in this week’s $1,500 buy-in $4 Million Main Event on DraftKings, which awards $1 million to first place. There are 174 entrants at the time of writing and the tournament pays out to the top 589 lineups. [EXTERNALURL=”http://www.pocketfives.com/visit/draftkings”]Visit DraftKings[/EXTERNALURL] for details.
