Less than a year ago, on March 6, 2006, PokerXFactor was born. Armed with four hours of video by top online pro and World Series of Poker bracelet winner Cliff “JohnnyBax” Josephy and hedge fund owner turned poker superstar Eric “sheets” Haber, PXF has since ballooned to containing over 150 hours of instructional videos from some of the brightest minds online poker has to offer. Now one year old, the site has made its mark on the online poker community. PocketFives.com sat down with owner Scott “mindwise” Pendergrast to learn about the success of one of the best training sites around. Mindwise comments on the tremendous growth of PXF: “A lot has changed in our first year at PXF. We’ve tried very hard to listen to our members and give them what they want. We now have 150 hours of videos online. The PXF replayer has evolved tremendously and is now called the PXF Hand History Analyzer. It features tools to help subscribers identify leaks in their game, ranging from a graphic representation of an entire tournament to a ‘Luck Calculation’ that lets you know how strong your hole cards were.”
In addition to the Hand History Analyzer, PXF has also added a forum, chat, an eBookstore, gift certificates, calendars, a PXF gear store (both a cash version and PXF credits store), podcasts from live events, and the popular PXF League, which now has 1,200 players and tracks every single No Limit Holdem tournament played at PokerStars. Not too bad for 365 days’ worth of work. PocketFives.com Co-Owner Adam Small comments on PXF: “PokerXFactor has been a huge boon to online poker players ever since it came into existence, and Mindwise and company have worked extremely hard to continue to make it one of the best products of its kind.”
In addition to the original instructors, PXF now has content coming in from guest pros Eric “Rizen” Lynch, Chris “brsavage” Savage, Kevin “BeL0WaB0Ve” Saul, and SNG guru Michael “inissint” Glasser. The 150 hours of content currently found on the site accelerated rapidly in February, when, for the first time ever, PokerXFactor put online a new video for every day of the month. “We think it’s important to be innovative with our videos,” comments Mindwise. “Our replayer allows us to feature hole cards from multiple players in a tournament and it’s been great to have top players willingly donate their hand histories for the videos. From the very beginning, it allowed our pros to create more videos per month than all other major poker training sites combined. Our pros use it to focus on the key hands in the tournament and it allows them to stop play and go into great detail. We also have videos like our ‘Sheets Challenge Series’ where Sheets plays a SNG with PXF subscribers and everyone submits their hole cards to be revealed in the video. It’s a powerful educational tool.”
Last year, Rizen gave his opinion of PXF: “There is a wealth of quality options to spend time using to improve your game. I wish these sorts of materials were available to me when I was first learning how to play, as I'm certain it would have substantially shortened my learning curve.”
The one year anniversary will not go without a great promotion. Mindwise comments: “As part of our one year celebration, PXF is creating a special One Week Anniversary League that is open to anyone for free. The PXF League rules and points calculations do not favor higher buy-in tournaments, so any player, from micro limits to the big buy-ins, can win. The top scorer in the One Week League can submit a hand history of his or her choice and a PXF pro will analyze it and make a video offering feedback and commentary of it. The top five scorers will receive a free one month subscription (or extension) to PXF. All PXF subscribers who are already part of the PXF League are already entered into the one week league. Non-PXF subscribers should go to this page to sign up for free: http://www.pokerxfactor.com/anniversary.htm.”
Only time will tell what the second year will bring for Mindwise and PXF. Mindwise comments: “We plan to introduce PXFwiki in the near future, plus we have more guest pros coming, upgrades to the PXF HH Analyzer, and some big plans to put more control over content into our subscribers’ hands.”

Congratulations to PXF on its one year anniversary. Visit www.pokerxfactor.com for more information.
