A petition filed by the American Gaming Association (AGA) in recent days to stop PokerStars' purchase of the Atlantic Club in Atlantic City has been a hot topic of debate in our community. My Brother Lived with Mark Vos at University

Surrounding yourself with some of poker's top minds can only improve your own game. That's a lesson we can learn from Australia's Tom tollgate Grigg (pictured), who recently took down the Full Tilt Poker $350,000 Guaranteed for a colossal $71,000. The tournament drew 1,269 players, exceeding its guarantee, and Grigg defeated xqsays heads-up in a non-chopped ending.

"I feel like I'm going to register for the $530 Monday PLO!" That was the response from Luke LFmagic Fields (pictured) when asked how he felt about winning the Full Tilt Poker Sunday Brawl outright on April 7 for $40,000. The Brawl fell short of its $200,000 guarantee and Fields outlasted a field of nearly 1,000 players for the title. And then it was onto PLO.

Pool and poker have always gone hand-in-hand, both serving as vehicles for gambling where a skilled player has an advantage and, in the right situation, can be profitable over time. The other night, I watched “The Color of Money,” in which Tom Cruise is an up-and-coming pool player with a lot of talent and Tom Newman is a wizened veteran trying to show him the ropes.
