Ultimate Gaming Leaves New Jersey

On Friday, following word that its land-based partner casino, Trump Taj Mahal, is facing bankruptcy, Ultimate Gaming announced that it plans to withdraw from the regulated New Jersey marketplace. Full Tilt Drops "Poker" from Domain, Moves to FullTilt.com and FullTilt.eu

If you blinked, then you might have missed that Full Tilt Poker has moved domains from to simply . For now, the brand is still called Full Tilt Poker, but with the addition of casino games in recent weeks and a pending purchase by Amaya Gaming, we could see the word "Poker" dropped from the "Full Tilt Poker" brand in the not-too-distant future.

New Jersey Weekend Tournament Review for July 21, 2014

This weekend in New Jersey online poker, PartyPoker/Borgata Poker ran its $5,000 and $10,000 Guarantees. A2ron02 (a2ron02 on PocketFives) won the $5,000 Guarantee on Friday, cashing for $812. Kyle Miller (millertime4244 on PocketFives) took down the same tournament on Saturday, banking $1,000. Exocomet (papsdee on PocketFives) won the $10,000 Guarantee on Sunday, pocketing $2,928.

Here's a thought you might have not had. What if playing online during the World Series of Poker is actually more profitable than going to the WSOP itself' Sure, if you win the WSOP Main Event, you'd be up $10 million, but for all but one member of the poker community, winning the Main Event isn't an option.

He might be down almost $20 million lifetime in high-stakes online poker games according to HighStakesDB, but Danish poker pro Gus Hansen (pictured) mounted a comeback of sorts on Thursday, recording $731,000 in profit according to the tracking site. Renewable Utilities By Day, Chopping the Sunday 500 By Night

Cardiff, UK's Les lpacker Packer hit it big in the PokerStars Sunday 500 last month, chopping the tournament heads-up for $57,000 and officially taking first place. On Sunday night, going up against the nationally-televised New England Patriots and Cincinnati Bengals NFL game, the 2014 World Series of Poker Main Event continued airing on ESPN. Two hours of action hit the small screen beginning at 9:00pm ET. This author tuned in at 10:00pm ET for an hour after the Sunday Night Football game ceased to be competitive.

New Jersey Has Explored Compacts with Nevada, UK; No Deal Imminent

According to an Associated Press interview with David Rebuck (pictured), Director of the Division of Gaming Enforcement in New Jersey, Garden State officials have been in touch with their counterparts in Nevada and the United Kingdom about sharing online gambling liquidity. Who is Scooping Up Ultimate Poker's Old Player Pool?

Canadian Police Raid Amaya Offices

According to Forbes, Canadian officials raided the offices of Amaya Gaming in Montreal on Wednesday. According to the company, which purchased PokerStars and Full Tilt in June for $4.9 billion, the investigation centers on "trading activities in Amaya securities surrounding the Corporation's acquisition of [PokerStars and Full Tilt] in 2014."
