Don't Call it a Comeback: Gus Hansen Up $731,000 on Thursday

He might be down almost $20 million lifetime in high-stakes online poker games according to HighStakesDB, but Danish poker pro Gus Hansen (pictured) mounted a comeback of sorts on Thursday, recording $731,000 in profit according to the tracking site. Renewable Utilities By Day, Chopping the Sunday 500 By Night

Cardiff, UK's Les lpacker Packer hit it big in the PokerStars Sunday 500 last month, chopping the tournament heads-up for $57,000 and officially taking first place. This weekend in the PartyPoker/Borgata Poker $50,000 Guarantee Sunday Major, a familiar face was seen in the winner's circle. Mike Azzaro, who plays as MikeyCasino, outlasted a field of 304 runners to win the tournament, taking home $11,248. Who is LarsLuzak?

Off to a hot start in 2014 is PocketFives member LarsLuzak (pictured), who is known in the real world as Sami Kelopuro. This Finnish poker pro has a final table in the Full Tilt Poker FTOPS Main Event and a win in the site's $250,000 Guaranteed already this year for a combined $134,000. Millionaire Maker Attracts Second Largest WSOP Field Ever

Phil Ivey Files Motion to Dismiss Borgata Edge-Sorting Lawsuit

Last month, Felipe Baraky Tavares (pictured) finished third in the PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up. While many players would be excited to find $47,000 sitting in their laps, Tavares wanted more, telling PocketFives, "It could have been better. PocketFives Rankings Update: lena900 Jumps to #9 Worldwide

There wasn't a lot of movement this week in the top 10 worldwide of the PocketFives Online Poker Rankings, but Sweden's lena900 moved up from #18 to #9 and was the lone new face in the top 10. On July 29, lena900 won the PokerStars Super Tuesday for over $100,000 officially, a cash that pushed the Swede's PLB Point tally up by 741.

Coverage of the World Series of Poker's Big One for One Drop continued on Tuesday night on ESPN. Two one-hour episodes began with 16 players left and Tom Hall was perched atop the chip counts. The One Drop dished out a $15 million top prize.

On the final Sunday in July, PocketFiver Beq was part of a three-way chop of the PokerStars Sunday Million and bagged $158,000, the second largest amount given out. There were almost 7,000 entrants in the Sunday Million that week and Beq, who calls Finland home, recorded his largest online poker cash to date by a factor of five.
