Heads-Up with #33 Ranked perrymejsen

To close out July, Jerry Odeen, known on PocketFives as perrymejsen, took second in the weekly PokerStars Sunday 500 and earned $40,000. There were 606 entrants that day and Odeen was one of six PocketFivers to finish in the top 10. Consequently, PocketFivers earned 46% of the prize pool.

Nevada Weekend Tournament Review for August 17, 2015

This weekend in Nevada, 13 PocketFives members made it to 18 final tables and cashed for $11,506 collectively, or 17% of the available prize pool. ChaosTheory led the way with over $3,100 in winnings. JCHAK (pictured) had the most cashes at three and took home over $1,373. Only one PocketFiver finished in first place, as ColHanzLanda won the Sunday Freezeout for $1,173.

New Jersey Weekend Tournament Review for August 17, 2015

This weekend in New Jersey, several PocketFivers cashed in for some big paydays. Jason Jlaw Lawhun made three final tables, two of them being Sunday Majors. Lawhun finished third in the PartyPoker/Borgata $50,000 Guarantee, won the 888 Poker/WSOP $2,000 Guarantee, and finished fifth in the 888 Poker/WSOP $30,000 Guarantee for a total of $7,665.

Tournament Review for August 17, 2015

Canadian PocketFives members had a strong showing in major online poker tournaments over the weekend, as John j0hndayt0n Dayton of Ontario (pictured) placed 4th in the PokerStars Sunday Million for $63,404, his largest online tournament cash to date. Fellow Ontarian T_Dot_D finished 6th in that event and received $36,472.

WSOP on ESPN Recap: "It Appears to Be Over. Someone Needs to Tell Them."

On Tuesday, the 2015 World Series of Poker National Championship aired on ESPN for two hours. The main story of the first hour was the elimination of Daniel Negreanu in sixth place, so we'll move on to the second hour, which began with Loni Harwood (pictured) holding the chip lead five-handed.

PocketFives Rankings: veeea Charges to #4 Worldwide

Don't look now, but veeea (pictured) is making a charge towards the #1 spot in the PocketFives Rankings. He rose nine spots this week to settle at #4, two off his all-time high. He has been on a tear in recent weeks and finished third in the PartyPoker Sunday Major over the weekend for $12,000.

Country Poker Rankings: Overall vs Total PLB vs Average PLB

If you haven't already noticed, we have a pretty extensive Country Poker Rankings page here on PocketFives. It lists just about every country in the world in order by the combined cumulative PLB score of its top 20 players. Sweden and Canada have predominantly paced the leaderboard over the years, with the former currently leading with 104,727 points.

Phil Ivey on Borgata Edge-Sorting: "They Never Asked Me What I Was Doing"

In March, Phil Ivey (pictured) was deposed in a case involving alleged edge-sorting at Borgata in Atlantic City. The casino sued Ivey for almost $10 million and, in turn, Ivey counter-sued Borgata. PokerNews managed to obtain a portion of the deposition, which took place in March.

888 Puts New Deal on the Table for bwin.party

Like two suitors standing below the window of a maiden they are attempting to woo, the love songs from GVC Holdings and 888 Holdings to bwin.party continue to grow louder. It appears the long, drawn-out battle for bwin.party is over. On Friday, it was announced that the company's board had unanimously approved a $1.7 billion offer from GVC Holdings, the owners of Sportingbet. bwin.party is the parent company of PartyPoker and bwin, among other brands.

Nevada Weekend Tournament Review for October 5, 2015

This weekend in Nevada, nine PocketFives members made it to 11 final tables and cashed for $8,896 collectively, or 12% of the total prize pool. pferdferd (pictured) took down the Saturday Weekend Warm-Up for $2,388. Tournament Review for October 5, 2015

The PokerStars Sunday Million was won by Brazilian online poker tournament specialist Pedro pcayobh Cayo (ranked #320 worldwide - pictured), who took the tournament down outright for a career high online score of $177,137. The victory could put Pedro in the Top 100 Rankings for the first time. Fellow Brazilian andreflk13 placed 4th in that event for $64,168.

On Sunday night, the 2015 WSOP Main Event aired on ESPN for 2.5 hours. We checked in during the last hour, which aired at 10:00pm ET and began with 87 players left on Day 5. Daniel Negreanu was still camped out at the feature table.

PocketFives Rankings: C Darwin2 Cracks Top 10 for First Time

For the first time ever, Sweden's C Darwin2 cracked the top 10 of the PocketFives Rankings. The leaderboard was recalculated on Wednesday and C Darwin2 jumped 10 spots to land at #10. His top 10 showing was due in part to two wins on Winamax this month: a victory in the Grand for $36,000 and a win in the High Roller on Tuesday for another $8,200.

New Jersey Weekday Tournament Review for October 9, 2015

This week in New Jersey, taking down the PartyPoker/Borgata $5,000 Guarantee for the first time was Frank FLD15 DiRe, who will earn his highest online cash to date at $1,605. Dan Caiazzo (yazi4 on PocketFives) shipped the network's $10,000 Guarantee, also earning his largest online cash at $3,247.

BillyChat Hits $3 Million in Online MTT Scores

In recent weeks, London's Billy BillyChat Chattaway (pictured) hit $3 million in career online tournament winnings. He was one of six PocketFivers to accomplish the feat in September and told us, "I feel good. It wasn't too long ago that I got to $2 million. I will keep pressing on. The results are in for September's Monthly PocketFives Leaderboard, or Monthly PLB, and one Swede ran away with the win. Whereas other months have seen Monthly PLB champions crowned by a few dozen points, in September, eisenhower1 took it down by a healthy 700 points over the second place player, Fresh_Oo_D.

WSOP Europe: Richard Gryko Wins €3,250 Pot Limit Omaha Bracelet

Richard 'raconteur' Gryko survived a nearly 5 1/2 hour long heads-up battle with Mike 'goleafsgoeh' Leah to win the €3,250 Eight Max Pot Limit Omaha event at WSOP Europe and his first career bracelet Tuesday in Berlin.
