Tournament Review for July 28, 2014

PocketFives member Beq of Finland earned his largest career online poker tournament score this Sunday with a runner-up performance in the PokerStars Sunday Million for $158,165 as a result of a three-way final table deal. Fellow member DaDumon of Austria also had a career outing in the flagship event; placing 4th for $76,241.

Nevada Weekday Tournament Review for July 25, 2014

In Nevada this week, ran all four $3,000 events as scheduled. All of the events exceeded the guarantees. There were 305 runners for a total prize pool of 21,675 and 55 spots being paid.

Nevada Hits $1 Million in Online Poker Revenue for the First Time

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the regulated Nevada online poker sites hit $1 million in combined revenue in June, the first time that's happened since the market launched last year. The number was $1.037 million in a month, to be exact.

Dan Cates Hits $10 Million in High-Stakes Winnings at Full Tilt

According to HighStakesDB, Dan "jungleman" Cates (pictured) has hit $10 million in winnings at the high-stakes tables on Full Tilt Poker. He reached the mark after scooping $677,000 in a marathon session on Saturday. According to the tracking site, Cates played for 26 hours with a scant one-hour break.

New Jersey Weekend Tournament Review for September 1, 2014

This weekend in New Jersey online poker, Chris White (zackbaker on PocketFives) made three final tables on PartyPoker/Borgata Poker. On Friday night, White finished fourth in the $5,000 Guarantee and won the $10,000 Guarantee. On Saturday, he had an eighth place finish in the $10,000 Guarantee for a total of $2,864 on the weekend.

New Jersey Weekend Tournament Review for June 9, 2014

This weekend in New Jersey, PartyPoker/Borgata Poker ran its $10,000 Guarantee as well as the $50,000 Guarantee Sunday Major. Tony_Roastbeef_ won the $10,000 Guarantee on Friday, banking $2,175 after a three-way chop. Winning the $50,000 Guarantee was pokermaster24, who took home the top prize of $10,000.

Amaya Responds to PokerStars Acquisition Rumors

Nevada Weekend Tournament Review for October 6, 2014

This weekend in Nevada, eleven PocketFives members made it to the final tables but only one, LuckSackGMZ took down a tournament. Derek Gomez (pictured, ranked #10 in Nevada) won the Ultimate Poker Sunday $10K event, winning $2,900. Overall, PocketFives members took home over $9K by cashing in thirteen events.

Tournament Review for June 16, 2014

Portuguese poker tournament specialist Artur rnb333 Silva had his largest online cash to date as a result of his runner-up performance in the PokerStars Sunday Million for $150,153. Silva took home the biggest payday in the event thanks to his negotiations in a three-way final table deal. Fellow member glammc pocketed $39,450 for his 6th place effort in that event.

Longtime PocketFiver and former #1 ranked player Paul paulgees81 Volpe (pictured) claimed the fifth World Series of Poker bracelet for PocketFivers in Las Vegas this year. The event was a $10,000 No Limit 2-7 Draw Lowball tournament that brought out a star-laced field, including Daniel Negreanu, whom Volpe beat heads-up.

Nevada, had a busy schedule this weekend, as ten of the guaranteed events had first place payouts approaching or exceeding $1,000. The most talked-about event was the Saturday WSOP Main Event 25 Seat Scramble, which drew 1,235 entrants, just 15 players short of meeting the $250,000 guarantee. PocketFives Rankings Update: 810ofclubs Up to #4 Worldwide

After being as high as #2 in the PocketFives Poker Rankings in 2011, Toby 810ofclubs Lewis (pictured) is once again making a run at the top. This week, he moved up from #7 worldwide to #4 with 7,462 PLB Points. Lewis has $4.2 million in online winnings in his PocketFives profile, $2.5 million of which has come on PokerStars.

Hold Onto Your Butts: WSOP $5K NLHE Six-Max Finale on Thursday

On Thursday, Event #24 of the 2014 World Series of Poker, a $5,000 No Limit Hold'em Six-Max contest, will play down from 17 players to one bracelet winner. PocketFives Rankings Update: r4ndomr4gs New #1

Sweden's r4ndomr4gs became the #1 player in the PocketFives Poker Rankings this week. The Gothenburg resident moved up from #2 to #1 this week on the strength of a runner-up finish in the PokerStars Sunday 500 over the weekend for $44,000 and nearly 400 PLB Points. r4ndomr4gs has over $4 million in online MTT cashes, the largest of which was worth $174,000 and came via an ECOOP win in 2009.
