New Jersey Weekday Tournament Review for December 5, 2014

This week in New Jersey, PartyPoker/Borgata Poker launched its new tournament schedule, which saw the nightly $10,000 Guarantee get moved up an hour and the nightly $5,000 Guarantee become a turbo. Mike JohnnnyDrama Haberman, Jr. made the final table of both the $5,000 and $10,000 Guarantee on Wednesday, cashing for a total of $1,122.

PocketFives Rankings Update: PokerKaiser Retakes Top Spot

The PocketFives Online Poker Rankings were recalculated on Wednesday and Nicolas PokerKaiser Fierro (pictured) overtook Yuri Martins for the top spot. This is Fierro's second stint at #1 in the PocketFives Rankings, snapping Martins' three-week reign. Fierro leads Martins by 40 PLB Points, 8,028 to 7,968.

High Stakes Poker: Kagome Kagome Up $500,000 in 3 Days

It has been a good week to be Germany's Kagome Kagome (pictured), who is up over $500,000 in the last three days at cash game tables, according to HighStakesDB. On Sunday, the site posted that Kagome Kagome had won almost $130,000 at the 2-7 Triple Draw tables on Saturday, increasing his three-day haul to north of half-a-million dollars.

New Jersey Weekday Tournament Review for January 2, 2015

This week in New Jersey, PocketFiver Mergulas made three final tables on PartyPoker/Borgata Poker. This week in New Jersey, the Garden State Super Series II had six events with $116,500 in total guaranteed prize money up for grabs on PartyPoker/Borgata Poker. Chemical Firm During the Week, $78K in the Warm-Up on Sunday

"It Was a Good MTT to Win Because Rebuys Are My Best Game"

Earlier this month, Portugal's skyboy (pictured) came away with an outright win in the PokerStars Sunday $100 Rebuy. There were over 1,000 entrants and his reward for beating all of them was $55,000. "It was a good MTT to win because rebuys are my best game," he told us. In fact, his top three cashes dollar-wise are all in tournaments involving rebuys.

PokerStars to Engage in Discussions with California Lawmakers

Earlier this month, California Assemblyman Mike Gatto introduced AB 9, otherwise known as the Internet Poker Consumer Protection Act of 2015. New Dot-Poker Domains to Open in February

Beginning on February 5, a new dot-poker domain address will be opened up for usage. As it is the first of a three-phase operation, a restricted number of potential applicants will be approved. The player with the highest cash win was nuknuk420 with a payout of $1,553 for taking down Monday night's event. nuknuk420 has made three final tables this year, this being his first ever takedown of an event.

Is An Internet Gambling Upheaval Looming in the UK?

The Gambling Licensing and Advertising Bill was passed by the United Kingdom's House of Lords and became a part of British law after it received Royal Assent on May 14, 2014. The UK gaming law includes stricter underage gambling controls, but perhaps more importantly a 15% point of consumption gaming tax for online gaming operators.

On September 18, Andrei Krylou (pictured), better known as Happynose on PocketFives, won the first of three tournaments for his first Triple Crown. PokerStars was the site of the victory, which came in a $75 NLHE tournament.
