Sunday $100 Rebuy Win, Super Tuesday Final Table in the Same Week

The end of February was pretty lucrative for Audrius Miliauskas (pictured), who goes by Davydenko123 on PocketFives. On the 22nd, he won the PokerStars Sunday $100 Rebuy after a four-way chop and put away $42,000. Two days later, he finished fourth in the site's Super Tuesday for another $45,000. It was a pretty profitable way to end the shortest month of the year.

Cash Plays? Not So Much at MGM Properties

According to Online Poker Report, cash will no longer play at MGM Resorts properties around the United States. The site pointed out that impacted poker rooms will include casinos from Las Vegas to Michigan: Aria, Bellagio, MGM Grand Las Vegas, Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, Monte Carlo, Mirage, Beau Rivage in Biloxi, and MGM Grand Detroit. The change will be enforced as of April 1.

Court Convicts Three in the Violent Death of Poker Pro Mehmet Hassan

A woman and two men were found guilty in a UK court this week of murdering professional poker player Mehmet Hassan (pictured). Hassan, 56, had become romantically involved with Leonie Granger, 25, after meeting her in a Mayfair casino. But authorities say that the poker pro was little more than a target for an easy robbery by Granger, her boyfriend Kyrron Jackson, and Nicholas Chandler, both 28.

Two Guys from Shawinigan Final Table the Sunday Million the Same Month

Winamax Million Event Begins Sunday, Three Day 1s

The first of three Day 1s in the popular Winamax Million Event as part of the Winamax Series XI took place on Sunday. Two more Day 1s are scheduled if you missed out, as Day 1B will take place on Monday and Day 1C will take place on Tuesday. All three starting days begin at 20:00 CET. The tournament has a €150 buy-in, allows rebuys, and, as its name suggests, guarantees €1 million.

Nevada Weekend Tournament Review for January 12, 2015

This weekend in Nevada, eight PocketFives members made it to 13 final tables, cashing for over $10,000 collectively. lindeyloo22 brought home the most cash by finishing fifth in the WSOP Winter Poker Classic Main Event for $3,233. MrBeaumont's (pictured) three cashes in the $3K Nightly events netted him over $2,800 for his efforts. Handsomemaxx had three cashes and won over $1,100.

Tournament Review for January 12, 2015

There was a five-way chop over the weekend in the PokerStars Sunday Million flagship tournament, led by PocketFiver PokerMachine of Portugal, who earned $180,000 for his official first place finish. Fellow member dennishtm of Germany walked away with an even $100,000 upon placing 5th, while stonsijones of Iceland cashed for $94,000 (2nd place officially).

Nevada Weekend Tournament Review for April 20, 2015

This weekend in Nevada, nine PocketFives members made it to 12 final tables, cashing for $14,967 collectively. The largest individual cash belonged to bcm4924, who took home $5,032 for finishing fourth in the Spring Poker Series Main Event on Sunday. bcm4924 also cashed in three other events during the weekend for a grand total of $6,891.

Tournament Review for January 26, 2015

The PokerStars Turbo Championship of Online Poker (TCOOP) continued this Sunday, with several PocketFives members making final tables in the events. Ilkin Garibli Wins PokerStars Caribbean Adventure High Roller Event

Caesars Division Files for Bankruptcy

On Thursday, a division of Caesars Entertainment filed for bankruptcy. According to the LA Times, "The division, Caesars Entertainment Operating Co., owns and operates most of Caesars' 50 properties worldwide." Caesars officials said the casinos would remain open and few changes were expected while the company sorts out a reported $18.4 billion in debt.

New Online Poker Bill Introduced in California

A second bill regulating online poker has been introduced in California, according to CardPlayer and other sites. The bill is the brainchild of Assemblyman Reggie Jones-Sawyer and is called the Internet Poker Consumer Protection Act of 2015.
