New Jersey Weekend Tournament Review for May 12, 2014

This weekend on the virtual felts of New Jersey online poker, there were a number of PocketFivers who made multiple final tables. La_Flama_Blan27 (rimmer27 on PocketFives) made back-to-back final tables in the $10,000 Guarantee nightly on PartyPoker/Borgata Poker. He finished in fourth place on both Saturday and Sunday for a total of $1,887.

Last month, the PokerStars Micro Millions Main Event played out on the world's largest online poker site. The $22 buy-in tournament attracted a ridiculous field of over 63,000 entrants and, when it finally concluded, PocketFiver Raphael Jude RainmanRJA Augustin (pictured) came away with the win following a heads-up chop and ran off with $78,000, or nearly 3,600 times his buy-in.

Tournament Review for May 19, 2014

The 2014 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) wrapped up over the weekend with the $10,000+300 NLHE Main Event. Phillip Grindation Mcallister of the United Kingdom wound up in 5th place in the tournament for $350,838 while Canada's NeverScaredB (pictured) finished 6th for $279,225.

Nevada Weekday Tournament Review for April 11, 2014

In Nevada this week, ran three of its four $3,000 events as scheduled. On Wednesday, the site ran a special satellite for two $1,500 seats to the 2014 World Series of Poker. All of the events on exceeded the guarantees. There were 223 runners with a total prize pool of 16,225.

PokerStars, Full Tilt Downloadable Clients Unaffected by Heartbleed Bug

According to a statement posted on the sites' blog, the Heartbleed Bug did not affect PokerStars' or Full Tilt Poker's real money clients. The bug attacked an issue in OpenSSL, but according to PokerStars officials, "At no stage were our downloadable clients on either PokerStars or Full Tilt Poker vulnerable to this issue at any time. This applies to both desktop and mobile clients."

Next US Full Tilt Poker Refunds Coming By May 31

According to an update posted on the official Full Tilt Poker Claims website on Wednesday, the next round of US Full Tilt Poker refunds will be sent out by the end of May. About 1,000 people will get their money back this time around, over three years after Full Tilt vacated the US market on Black Friday.

Tournament Review for June 23, 2014

Over the weekend, PocketFives members were led by Steve betrthanphil Tripp of Canada (pictured - ranked #432 worldwide), who took down the PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up for $79,116. All Signs Point to Amaya-PokerStars Announcement

On Friday, we'd expect to hear news that Canadian-based Amaya Gaming will be purchasing the parent company of PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker, the Isle of Man-based Rational Group. This weekend in New Jersey online poker, Chris White (zackbaker on PocketFives) made three final tables on PartyPoker/Borgata Poker. On Friday night, White finished fourth in the $5,000 Guarantee and won the $10,000 Guarantee. On Saturday, he had an eighth place finish in the $10,000 Guarantee for a total of $2,864 on the weekend.

The Opposite of an Epakfailer

About the same time as the World Series of Poker kicked off this year from Las Vegas, Mario Alina (pictured), who goes by Epakfailer on PocketFives, chopped the PokerStars $100 Rebuy three ways for $32,000. There were almost 900 entrants and Alina earned the third largest payout of the group.

Nevada Weekday Tournament Review for July 25, 2014

In Nevada this week, ran all four $3,000 events as scheduled. All of the events exceeded the guarantees. There were 305 runners for a total prize pool of 21,675 and 55 spots being paid.

Nevada Hits $1 Million in Online Poker Revenue for the First Time

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the regulated Nevada online poker sites hit $1 million in combined revenue in June, the first time that's happened since the market launched last year. The number was $1.037 million in a month, to be exact.

According to HighStakesDB, Dan "jungleman" Cates (pictured) has hit $10 million in winnings at the high-stakes tables on Full Tilt Poker.
