Victims in Borgata Tournament Marred By Fake Chips Still Awaiting Resolution

To start off 2014, the opening event of the Borgata Winter Poker Open was canceled when 27 players remained after officials found "a significant number of counterfeit chips." The tournament carried a healthy $2 million guarantee and first place was scheduled to make $372,000. Two months later, its remaining participants are anxiously awaiting a resolution.

Nevada Weekday Tournament Review for April 11, 2014

In Nevada this week, ran three of its four $3,000 events as scheduled. On Wednesday, the site ran a special satellite for two $1,500 seats to the 2014 World Series of Poker. All of the events on exceeded the guarantees. There were 223 runners with a total prize pool of 16,225.

PokerStars, Full Tilt Downloadable Clients Unaffected by Heartbleed Bug

According to a statement posted on the sites' blog, the Heartbleed Bug did not affect PokerStars' or Full Tilt Poker's real money clients. The bug attacked an issue in OpenSSL, but according to PokerStars officials, "At no stage were our downloadable clients on either PokerStars or Full Tilt Poker vulnerable to this issue at any time. This applies to both desktop and mobile clients."

Second Time Playing the PokerStars $100 Rebuy = Championship

It was a busy weekend for online poker players in New Jersey. WSOP ran its Mini Fest $25K Guarantee Main Event, which attracted 411 runners. Nevada Weekend Tournament Review for December 23, 2013

This weekend saw Ultimate Poker run five events with first place payouts approaching $1,000 or more. There were 174 runners fighting for the 28 prizes available, totaling $22,828. The player with the highest individual cash was m1a1tank19k in the Sunday $10,000 for $2,900. That event had an overlay of $2,083, as the guarantee was not met.

There was a five-way final table chop in the PokerStars Sunday Million weekly flagship tournament over the weekend, with Brazilian CheVeaU taking home the largest prize of $161,880 for his victory.
