While the second flight of the 2016 World Series of Poker was underway, Fedor Holz was on the main stage beating Dan Smith for the first WSOP bracelet of his career and a cool $4,981,775. That victory was a historic one for Holz, but it also made him the third former #1-ranked PocketFiver to win a bracelet this summer.

With just the Main Event and the Little One for One Drop event left on the schedule former former #1-ranked PocketFives players have cashed 99 times this summer and won $6,202,663. Here are some of the top performing former players from this group and how they’ve fared at the WSOP this summer.

Fedor Holz

Before the $111,111 One Drop High Roller wrapped up, Fedor ‘CrownUpGuy’ Holz’s second WSOP experience was probably a bit of a disappointment. He had just three cashes for almost $42,000 and the closest he got to making a final table was an 18th place finish.

That all changed earlier this week though when Holz made the final table of the One Drop High Roller and steamrolled the field to get heads-up with Dan Smith. It took 90 minutes but Holz eventually finished off Smith for the first bracelet win of his career.

“I was very focused coming into this. I told my friends even, that this was going to be a very important week,” said Holz. “I had such a great feeling about this tournament and felt really intense about it, which is why it means so much to me to win it.”

Looking at his WSOP results shows an impressive summer for the 22 year old, but it’s not even half of his total winnings. Starting on May 27, Holz has six cashes – all at the Aria Resort Hotel poker room – for $5,336,234. Included in that is a runner-up in the Poker Central Super High Roller Bowl for $3,500,000 and three wins in $25,000 or $50,000 buy-in high roller events.

Bryan Piccioli

Three of Bryan ‘theczar19’ Piccioli’s five cashes have come in the last ten days. He found the money in the $888 Crazy Eights event, finished 80th in the $5,000 No Limit Hold’em event and then staying true to his online poker roots, cashed in the $1,000 WSOP.com bracelet event. He’s cashed for $28,461 this summer.

Taylor Paur

2016 WSOP cashes: 7
2016 WSOP earnings: $91,859

Taylor ‘taypaur’ Paur has seven total cashes this summer, one of just five former #1-ranked players to hit that mark this year. His biggest score of the summer cam in the last week as he posted a 23rd place finish in the $25,000 Pot Limit Omaha High Roller event for $42,435. He also cashed in the $888 Crazy Eights event and the $10,000 Pot Limit Omaha Championship. The closest he’s gotten to a final table so far was a 14th place finish in a $2,500 No Limit Hold’em event in June.

Calvin Anderson

2016 WSOP cashes: 5
2016 WSOP earnings: $47,661

Calvin ‘cal42688’ Anderson made his second final table of the summer last week, finishing eighth in the $1,500 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo event for $13,452. It was his fifth cash of the 2016 WSOP and second biggest score behind the $24,142 he made for another eighth place finish in the $10,000 Seven Card Stud Championship. His other recent cash was in the $888 Crazy Eights event and added just $1,330 to his earnings.

Paul Volpe

2016 WSOP cashes: 8
2016 WSOP earnings: $395,434

One of the other two former #1-ranked PocketFives players to win a bracelet this summer, Paul ‘paulgees81’ Volpe now trails only Dan ‘djk123’ Kelly for most cashes from this group this summer. He added two five-figure scores in the past 10 days. First he finished 11th in the $50,000 Poker Players Championship for $92,702. He followed that up two days later with a 15th place finish in the $25,000 Pot Limit Omaha High Roller event for $49,050. Those two scores have pushed Volpe’s 2016 WSOP earnings to nearly $400,000.
